But European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) has confirmed it is ironing out details with broadcasters before announcing the venue and day of the eagerly-awaited match.

You couldn't make it up. Unless they did, in which case you could.
Gloucester papers were saying last week that the toss would happen at Twickenham during the cup final, but I can't find the outcome anywhere. So it looks like your rumour is bang on the money.
Hilarious if so. Surely for it to have any credibility it has to be done in public?

Top 6 = Automatic
Top Italian = Automatic
7th in the league = playoff. But this probably means 8th seed for the Champions Trophy ( Hence ranked lower then top italian ). Well that is my reading into it

Can someone clarify something for me.
As I understand it, automatic qualification for Championship is Top 6 from Prem, Top 6 from France and 7 teams (not Top 7) from Pro 12 as the 7 teams from the Pro 12 has to include an Italian side, it is actually the Top 6 league finishers plus the top Itallian side from the Pro
12.
My reading of that is that it is the 7th place finisher in the League that gets the play off spot, not 8th.

On Friday night Edinburgh will make history as they become the first Scottish side to appear in a European final. Standing in their way of European Challenge Cup silverware are Gloucester.
Edinburgh advanced to the final courtesy of a 45-16 win over Dragons in the semi-final at Murrayfield. Leading 21-9 at half time, Edinburgh took advantage of the Dragons losing 3 men to the sin bin to run in 5 tries. Sam Hidalgo-Clyne was among the try scorers and added 4 conversions and 4 penalties to end the game with 25 points to his name.
Gloucester progressed to the final overcoming local Premiership rivals the Exeter Chiefs by 30-19 at Kingsholm. A first half try from centre Billy Meakes helped the home side go in 13-6 up at the interval and despite Exeter narrowing the gap to a point heading into the closing 15 minutes, late tries from Tom Savage and Jonny May saw Gloucester through to the final as the only unbeaten team in the competition.

Edinburgh 45-16 Dragons
Gloucester 30-19 Exeter Chiefs
Friday 1st May European Challenge Cup Final
Gloucester v Edinburgh
Twickenham Stoop. Kick off: 19:45
Gloucester go into the final as favourites as despite some indifferent league form they have won 8 out of 8 in the Challenge Cup. However, Edinburgh have performed strongly in the 2nd half of the season and wins at Scarlets and London Irish in recent times shows what they are capable of. Gloucester's need to win the trophy may be greater as the play off spot winning the competition would earn them looks their most likely avenue to qualify for next season's Champions Cup. Edinburgh are still pushing for Champions Cup qualification via the league and winning the competition has no benefit in terms of qualification for them but they are unlikely to give up this opportunity for silverware easily.

And that bloke is:
Craig Doyle 1-2
Brian O'Driscoll 6-4
Bruce Craig 4-1
Leighton Hodges 150-1
Gerry Thornley 5000-1
At those odds I'll have a monkey Bruce Craig
