Capacity, it's a money raiser and the BaaBaa's players don't play entirely for free. Not sure the players get payments but flights, transport, accomodation and expenses would be covered by te BaaBaa's...
Who pays The Barbarians to play?
The costs incurred by the Barbarians in assembling a squad for each game or tour are paid out of the gate receipts from the match, or matches, played.

Went to the last Ire v Baa-Baa's game in Kingsholm, but frankly couldn't be bothered my hole doing a five-six hour round trip to Glaws for a friendly. Decent enough ground and supporters but the town is a kip.
Problem is that Ireland are the guests of the Baa-Baa's who determine the location, but surely an agreement to a ground closer to London could have been arranged. Even High Wycombe would have been better. But realistically "The Stoop" would have been perfect, easy access for most suporters and 14k capacity. Even better again, why not bring the game to Ireland. I'm sure Thomoond would be happy to take the fixture...

The Baa-baas played England last w/e and I think Wales is this w/e, in which case they might have a training base somewhere nearby Gloucester....

Nothing is going to change what happened.
We should be focusing on Connacht and not whether Leinster players get picked for Ireland.
If either of the two ever decided to that they want to come back to Galway, I'd be all for it. They both must know themselves, that the moves havent worked out as planned, but they're both young, and will get a few more chances in the future.
Fair enough, but the topic is discussing Ireland squad, I am not moaning about him leaving but just the fact that our only Irish qualified props playing 1st team TH this season is Ross & Loughney, to be fair to loughney he is only a recent convert from LH and will benefit from more games. Hagen was in pole position to be back up for Ross.

You'd imagine Ross will be taken along regardless of the injury so would have to say Loughney looks like staying at home too.
Would there be a point bringing him the tour would be over at that stage. Ferris is definitely out and not touring. I think the way that injuries are happening Kidney would be dumb not to bring Loughs with him. Of course to do that he'd have had to give him gametime against the BaaBaa's but instead he chose Fitzpatrick. So to clarify Fitzpatrick hasn't played in 2 weeks and is starting Loughs hasn't played in 4 weeks and is/might be on the bench? Another solid deicision by the Irish managing team. To be frank with all the injuries and horse trading I'm beggining to forget whose in the team/s and whose bowed out.

He's a young lad and I wouldn't critcise his decision to go once they came in for him, but perhaps his advisors were looking too far down the road with the move especially given his age...But Yep, that's about the size of it.

also think that the fez' (ferris) is out which is a good thing, rest the knee.
muldoon anyone ??????
John is starting @ 6 tomorrow night but McLaughlin was officially called up as Fez's replacement last week. So unless someone gets a knock tomorrow looks like Muldoon will be staying at home for the summer. That said you'd think with the massive question marks over Chris Henry and Sean O'B for the tour he should be taken along rather than having to be called out a day before one of the tests.

Interesting to read that Wilko is / has been practising at TH to offer more flexibility for his Ireland chances www.independent.ie/sport/rugby/wilkinson...ruition-3120106.html
I wonder will see him at TH for us at all next term?
