Make it Connachts go to event centre. It’s madness that all of Connacht hasn’t got such an arena for all types of events. Get everyone we can on board it’s for the entire province.

Connacht need to use that as the template for what we want - capacity 10,000 max - located on the grounds on the Sportsground.
KPIs - Food halls / Toilet facilities / Proper bars / Family enclosures / Free Wifi / Museums / Conference centre

They run loads of park and rides to surrounding areas and have lines of taxis for people after the match. Park and ride is definitely the answer to traffic issues for a city centre location.
Capacity up there is just north of 18,000 so unlikely we go with something that big, but a slightly scaled back version would be just what we need.

Give me 4 covered sections, and some better permanent seating, and shove off with your power sockets for phones and apps that tell me what bathrooms are busy
I agree with you, but looking at the bigger picture if building something, you have to plan for the future, (apps, phone charger sockets), also you got to think of the ability to stage other events, concerts etc., and the requirements for these events.
Mind you an app to look at the replays of the tackle on Jack would have been used by most people last night!
The most important is comfortable, and good viewing platforms (seated and terraced), it's vital ( a good view) for looking at rugby in my opinion.

As I said in the survey - the amount of lost revenue due to people unwilling to stand out in the elements must be huge and needs to be considered!
I really hope this is done and done right, not a half arsed attempt! Do it once do it right and allow for future changes thereafter
For sure, and if you're a rugby family that's three or four of food/drinks/gear lost in sales in one hit...

Some of them were phrased a bit oddly, like "how likely would you be to use" something rather than asking if you're in favour of it.
I would be unlikely to use an alcohol free area but I think it's a great idea. On the other hand I would be unlikely to watch video replays on my phone but very likely to clip the lad beside me round the ear if he was doing it ...

In fairness they covered most things, some are far more basic requirements than others.
So possibly they're looking at what add-on's can they give to supporters, to ensure there's as much bang per buck in any eventual new stadium. What are our priorities in anew stadium..
In the upcoming world of 5g & Internet of Things [IOT] Stadium experiences will fundamentally change, connectivity will be built in and things like pre-ordering drinks or watching instant replays on your mobile will be integrated into stadium designs now..
The problem for Connacht is that the current offering is so far away from what is considered standard for even a basic new stadium even now, that supporters expectations are quite modest...

But I am regretting that I admitted to mostly traveling by car. Will that be interpreted as a vote for an out of town venue?
No they will just provide a valet service staffed by a team of robots. They will recharge themselves from your cigarette lighter so that will save money on installing power sockets.

Oh jaysus, is that the kinda craic they're on about? I haven't done it yet but that doesn't fill me with confidence in the direction of their thinking. Last thing we need is half-interested punters on the phone all game.
