"The boys know I cannot stand running straight into people."
"We need to ask questions of the defence and that’s what I said. Do not hold back. If it’s on, move the pass. The first time we attacked, it went from Aly Muldowney to Denis Buckley to Tom McCartney, out the back. It was just hands, hands, hands, hands."
“It’s tremendous and I’m really pleased, when you’ve got front rows and forwards that can pass, all of a sudden, you can put pressure on the team on defence. Kieran got the try, fantastic from him but a lot of effort went into that try.”

Magpie wrote: I've not read all the posts, so I don't now if it was previously mentioned, but I thought McGinty and Robb had outstanding performances. I am guessing Leo figured we would be weak with 2 inexperienced players in that channel, only for them to wallop everything that came near them. Well done lads, well done.
McGinty's physicality and ability to break the gainline is actually really impressive and has been massively important for us. He seems to be much harder to put down than you might expect. Not such a surprise when you look at Robb
O'Halloran was exceptional as well yesterday, injected serious pace into our attack and his distribution was brilliant.

I hope he remembered to take Ben Teo out of his pocket before he put his kit in for the wash! That time of thing can really mess up your machine!!!
One funny moment on the sky comms. last night when they interviewed Tim Allnutt in the 1st half not too long after Nige told Bundee to calm down if he wanted to stay on the pitch, they asked Tim how much caffeine Connacht inject into Bundee before a game to get him so worked up, Tim's beautifully timed response, "er no mate, Bundee's not allowed caffeine!!!"
When I heard Jake was out, I thought it could tip what was always going to be a tight game in their favour, but what a performance from McKeon! One of the best backrow displays I've seen in a Connacht jersey, the question for Eoin now is how does he replicate that display more consistently.

Marmion totally outclassed McGrath and also should be ahead of Reddan in the Irish squad. Buckley must have slept with someones wife in the IRFU. Mckeown was just outstanding. Muldowney will be a big loss next season.dobby wrote: There is nothing amazing about this. Is Buckley not the best loose head in Ireland. Is aki not the best centre in Ireland. Is toh not the best fullback in ireland. So what we proved today is the Joe Schmidt crash bang stuff will win no trophies

Roll on Ulster - heading up to this game on Friday with a little bit of hope in my heart! So proud of the Clan, the management & most of all the players. Nuff said by me....I'm off to shed a tear or two

Leinster were very nieve I thought. I a m glad we played ball as we have done all season.
Some serious performances.
McKeon could be the real deal as a long term 8 (for club and country). He was very impressive. Completely outplayed VDF.
SOB 2.0 did very well. With experience and more authority and influence, he could again be very good.
Aki and Marmian were special though. Marmian bossed the game.
Bealham is fast becoming a serious prospect at 3. Not a lot between him and Furlong I feel. If anything, Bealham is perhaps a better physical prospect.
I personally found it sad to see how much Cian Healy struggled. I fear he may never recover from these last 2 difficult seasons. It would be a real shame. As a country, we have never had many genuine world class players and he has been that in his prime.
I genuinely think we can win in Ulster and win at home to Munster.
The Treviso game is a potential banana skin and it then sets it up for a tough last home game.
And finally, we need a new stadium urgently. Poor sportsground looks awful on tv!

Somewhat of a roles reversed on the RDS game. In that game at 3-0 down and the wind to come it looked positive but we were 2nd best in the 2nd half. This time at 7-0 at half time it was difficult to envisage us winning this game without scoring at least one more try. We'd played quite well but also had played a lot of rugby in the wrong areas, turned over a lot of cheap ball and Leinster were comfortable enough and deserving of their half time position. However after the early penalty in the 2nd half we really played intelligent rugby and I don't think anyone can reasonably argue that we didn't deserve to win.
We were probably lucky with a call or two for off our feet towards the end but it hadn't been penalised all day so Leinster can have no real complaints. The flip side to that is Nacewa should undoubtedly have been binned earlier. Leinster were on our line at the end but apart from that had offered next to nothing in terms of try scoring opportunities.
When Pat first arrived he talked about the culture he wanted to bring to Connacht and the squad ethos he wanted to develop. We saw that once again in all its glory tonight. We once again got on with our job in adversity. Heenan out before kick off. No problem, Mckeon has a stormer and James Connolly does great off the bench. Nathan White off after 5 minutes, Bealham comes in and destroys Cian Healy and keeps McGrath at bay when he came on. Shane O'Leary came on and performed well. Caolin Blade filled in at 10 for a bit as we did a rejig while Tiernan was off. Andrew Browne displaying real leadership in carrying in the 2nd half. I said it after the Ospreys game but the pride people have in this team and the connection there is between the team and supporters makes me happier than anything. We've crossed the barrier from the lads did great and at least we got a bonus point to we're going to find a way to win this no matter what. Changing that mentality in the West of Ireland where we are used over the years to bowing down to our betters and taking the condescending pats on the back after a narrow loss is unbelievable.
Special congratulations to all those on the terracig who braved the elements. The horizontal rain sheeting down on them before kick off made it very unpleasant I'd imagine but they stuck it out and the majority got their rewards. Hopefully those terraces will be full a few more times in the weeks ahead.
I remember reading on the Leinster forum back in January after the Scarlets defeat one poster putting the boot in saying that if you bet against Connacht for the rest of the season you wouldn't lose money, that our autumnal fun was at an end and we'd finish 7th. Our autumnal fun is now spring fun and heading toward early summer fun The pesky bog men from the West aren't going away just yet;)
Before this season we'd never won more than 5 games in a row. After 8 in a row at the start of the season, we are now at 7 in a row. It's incredible.

Some teams would come in on the wrong side of those plays but we are on the right side of them due to skill sets...
And doing so consistently match to match
Coaching is sublime
