Well so much for the EOS rumour!

As for this:

According to indo Brian Walsh from cork con is tipped for that job.

I hope it's true. Walsh has being doing a good job for years and deserves a chance to shine at provincial level. Also shows the other boys managing at AIL that there is a chance of up-ward movement.

ok so fair enough we managed to win a couple of triple crowns under his reign , however when it really mattered at the World Cup in 2007 he failed miserably, after that I lost complete respect for him. Most French clubs have top coaches now, international standard I would say. Eddie was never International standard. Will be interesting to see how ge gets on

I always felt he was being ignored simply because he didn't have real club coaching experience but he went back to basics with a role at Garryowen and now is taking over a D2 club (with a great history that hopes to be promoted immediately) so he's going about it the right way.

This may clear the way for Eric to be a contender for the Munster backs coach job?

According to indo Brian Walsh from cork con is tipped for that job. In any case Eric has no plans to return to rugby .

I'm pleased for O'Sullivan. He deserves the chance to work at a decent level again. Biarritz are a huge club and a sleeping giant.

So it would seem.

Glad for him. I know views on him are polarized but imo he is too good a coach to be left out in the cold for as long as he has. I hope he does well.

I have always maintained Munster wouldn't win anything with Keatley at out half but he's had a good season and did well in the big HC games in general. Hanrahan looks the real deal to me given an opportunity. I'd have thought someone as a one year stop gap would be best for both Munster and Ireland but hope it works out for them.

You know I was joking but it might not actually be a bad policy for the provinces to follow. Target up and coming quality players rather than the finished article. Kind of like Man Utd did when the Glazers took over they bought Ronaldo and Nani and both of them worked out for them. We ourselves signed Jake Heenan whose been a massive asset to Connacht and CJ Stander after a slow start had also come good. Chasing these guys who just need experience and a little polishing could work wonders for Irish Rugby in the long run since the days of buying a Rocky Elsom seem well and truly gone.

P.S. The new captain of the U20 New Zealand team is a Simon Hickey and he's a centre!

That would explain why the senior team brought Ardie Savea on tour, keep an eye on him!
