Connacht Rugby is delighted to announce the immediate release of a limited number of Clan Terrace season tickets.

The terrace, which has been a huge hit with Connacht supporters, was one of the first areas of the Sportsground to sell out and this great opportunity has presented itself with the finalisation of tournament partners ticketing needs.

Holding just over 2000 fans the Clan Terrace has become the spiritual home of some of Connacht’s most fanatical supporters and has already been likened to established rugby strongholds such as Gloucester’s Shed and Claremont Auvergne’s Parc des Sports Marcel Michelin.

Connacht open their 2012/13 season with a home game against the Cardiff Blues and this is a rare opportunity to buy a season ticket in one of the most coveted areas of the ground, ensuring the best seats in the house for all 11 of Connacht’s RaboDirect PRO12 games and every home pool game in the Heineken Cup and the British & Irish Cup.

The limited number of tickets are on sale through www.ticketmaster.ie and from the Connacht Rugby Branch Office on College Road

I recieved an email from MRSC this morning which had info which might shed some light on what would be considered reasonable expectation re season ticket sales.

MRSC have 9500 members to date for the coming season and have sold 8600 STs.
STs for Munster come in three types( Single venue thomond, single venue musgrave, combined venue). The email doesnt clarify the amount in each category. I dont know if season tickets are sold by any other agency as in clubs etc but i dont think so.

If thats the case then reports of 3000+ sales by connacht at this time are excellent if accurate and a final total between 4000 and 5000, the target, will be an excellent result.

You never know. I don't think it'd bring them in when it's a Pro12 game, but any HC game should get people through the gates. Defo not the draw of Quins etc. but would still expect numbers to be well up.

seaon ticket sales of 4000 would be a great result and average attendance of 5000 is achievable in PRO12. If we can beat that average over the three HEC games it will be great. Harlequins and Biarritz should bring in extra punters but zebre wont.

4500 could be nice for every game. only had that at 4 games last season

Absolutely sure we were getting 4k last year

I never saw an official announcement that they had passed last years numbers, but heard much rumbling about it.
They were definitely over 3k a couple of weeks ago though.
They also give out so many as competition tickets, sponsors, etc, which werent included in that figure.
I'll expect the papers to be reporting over 3,5k at every home match next season at least

Close to 3500 I'd says it closer to 4000 or more
we should be targetting 5000, friends texting me today asking about season tickets just after hearing the draw, I'd say there is a few hundred more like that
