I agree,
I have no prob in producing my student ID but you should have to do so at the time of purchase (some may have not kept their ID as new ones will be issued in Sept)
those that bought tickets with the renewal offer would have done so based on their circumstances at that time, some may have finished college now and those that were unemployed in April/ May, may now be employed,
just my thoughts but I think that this issue has been badly handled

Don't like to gripe or to pick on someone but this crap really annoys me. Getting discount ticket holders to prove they are unemployed/under18/over65, making sure everyone plays fair - perish the thought!
A family ticket is cheaper than 2 adult tickets, I know a lot of couples who get these. About 5 years ago a stack of family tickets were sent out with 4 adult passes each. As recently as last year, I know of cases where student ticket holders got adult passes. The branch are right to be extra careful this year, nice to see people learning from their mistakes.
I'm not saying the branch are exemplary, or that we shouldn't complain - and if we don't have our tickets Friday we're all entitled to have a load off - but let's not start screaming BEFORE they f*ck up, shall we?
The Family one is difficult. After all what ID constitutes proof that you are a family. Come to think of it what is the correct definition of a family nowadays? I think that a couple living together longterm are every bit a family as a married couple and should not be discriminated against.
The Branch finally replied to my question on FB and they will have a collection point before the game this saturday. Its still unclear though whether it will remain in place for a few home games to cater for those who may miss 1st game.( students for example).
Almost all students are adults and shouldnt be confused with Juvniles or schoolboys to use GAA and soccer terms for tickets so i dont see problem with them recieving a full price(i assume this is what you mean by adult) ticket as it entitles them to the same things as the concession ticket anyway. The only difference afaik is the price.
I have no problem with anyone receiving a concession ticket having to prove qualification. The only point i was making in my earlier post is that they should not have to be put to an inconvenience to do so. If that means having to have the ticket collection point in place for the season then so be it. IMO if the branch continue to sell tickets over the phone to customers and wont post them out then a ticket collection point should always be in place as it is everywhere else. Last season i bought my ticket for toulouse game over the phone direct from branch and it was posted to me. I rang to purchase my ticket for the Gloucester game and was in the process of finalising the purchase when i was told by the same person that i would have to collect it at the office. I asked if it could be collected on Matchday and i was told no and that no such facility existed. This remained the case for the rest of the season. That is wrong and no way to do business.

We are happy to announce that all concession season tickets are now available for collection at the Connacht Rugyby branch in the Sportsground.
When coming to collect your ticket you must produce a valid identification which proves that you are entitled to a concession ticket. (E.g. Student Card, Medical Card, Free travel card...etc)
just back from there. rrrrrr i live in the stone age as the internet doesnt work on my mobile.

No different than printing an e-ticket from Ticketmaster.
WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS AT THE GATE WHEN I USE THIS TO GET IN.

why not then ask for proof we i went in there with my cash and handed it over. i dont have any problem giving proof. would of been 10 times easier that way and then post the all out two weeks ago etc.
i know for a fact my ticket is not ready yet. they said a email would be sent out when it ready to be collected. 89hours left till kick off. they had all summer = they have fucked up leaving it this late
There seems to be a lot of anger here.
First of all, as said above, the main error has fallen with the printers. They didnt get the tickets to the branch on time. I doubt the guys working in the office are looking forward to dealing with huge crowds of people queuing up in the office to pick up their tickets, or be on the receiving end of angry phone calls from fans, looking for their tickets.
Ideally, yes, the tickets should be in everyones hand, but as long as everyone gets them by Friday, I'm not sure what the big issue is.
Sure, some people wont be able to call to the office on Friday to collect their ticket, but I imagine you will be able to collect on Saturday at the game
With regards showing proof that you are a student. I imagine that you are in the minority, if you paid for your ticket in the office. Connacht use Ticketmaster for a reason. They dont want people coming to the office to buy their ticket.
