Sam Coughlan Murray wasn't in the Leinster signings anounced today. He's the only 3rd year academy player not promoted. Thoughts? Is he someone we should be interested in?

I agree. Really want to see a backrow signing soon cause it's going to a troublesome area for us next season otherwise.

We could have really done with him tbh, we're very light in the backrow and seven especially (obviously). If we have to shift Kearney to six we'll start to look pretty light in the second row, and that move would only make sense if Mul or McKeon can do the business at 7 which would be asking a lot.

Dominic Ryan has signed a 2 year extension at Leinster. Shame I really hoped he'd come.

Craig Ronaldson had a trial at Bath Rugby Club. Afaik he was looked at by both Leinster and Us but nothing has come of it so far. Marcus Walsh our academy SH is also his out-half partner at Lansdowne which would be another positive as him as Walsh would know each other.

I would have no problem with signing Stringer, but I wonder if it would work. Parks has said he hopes to move into coaching, so you'd imagine he has quite a vocal input to the backs. If Stringer wants to do the same it would be tough to juggle both of them

Rossie, was thinking along the same lines when I saw all the new posts to this topic, thought for sure there was an announcement.

I know Stringer is no spring chicken, but he's still playing some good rugby. Hope he decides to come to Connacht at least for a year rather than retire. He would bring that winners mentality west and show Marmion what it takes to be an international scrum half.

for me scrum half( stringer hopefully), 13/ backline signing( dineen or scanlon from munster my pick) and if Joc and coneely not signing we need a 7. i think gilsenan is a more realistic target.

No he is an outhalf. Had a few trials and some interest in England but heard on the grape vine that Connacht were fishing about as well.
