I think Connacht need to stop relying on Leinster for players and start producing more of their own homegrown players
We don't rely on them.......

Kind of defeating your own argument there.

How exactly was he poached? He went to a Leinster private school and played for Leinster throughout their underage teams?

Leinster have no tightheads in the academy next season, Connacht have 2. Leinster have three TH's total signed to them with Ross retiring in the very near future.
Jack O'Connell is no longer with Leinster after joining Bristol this summer. Ed Byrne is a loosehead prop and therefore not in Heffernan's way. Why would Connacht offer a unproven 19 year old prop anything other than a academy contract?

I suspect that an offer of a development contract or better from Connacht will lure him back west at this stage.
You'd have to think Connacht would be the better option especially when you see the likes of Tadgh Furlong and Moore and there age profiles. Furlong who is meant to be the next big thing in propping. Add to him Jack O'Connell who can prop TH and Ed Byrne in the academy and it would make sense for him to come West.

No harm in askin' like...
Suspect it depends on what Leinster has said to him, they may have asked him to do another year of AIL. As a 20 year old tight head he'll probably get as much benefit from a season with Lansdowne as in the Academy. If he's studying in Dublin that'll have a bearing too.

Unless he can get out if a contract his last itm cup game is October 12th. Mils is free to come over now. Not sure if he has fully recovered from his elbow surgery.phatguerilla wrote: Loving the optimism s4p (as well as the new avatar). he is connachts most exciting signing ever. clarke came with leadership etc but this guy will score trys.
you could do worse then to stick €10 on him to be the pro12 top scorer!
im already going to vote for my player of the year - bundee aki
definitely his best game of the season. those 2 hits should be making onto rugbydump this week.
Overall he doesn't score too many tries. a bit of a poacher. exciting times ahead.
