rossie wrote: what did u boys make of sheridan last night? afaik he hasnt been signed yet and is currently available for next season. rumour mill has it that stringer is retiring presumably because f a lack of an offer in iireland. he cant afford to go abroad officially.
I thought he looked sharp, quick ball, draws in defenders. He was playing behind a dominant pack, so hard to jusge. Why are Munster not offering him a contract...or have they just not signed one yet.

Im not used to this optimism with Connacht
Signing very good players
Signing up the majority of our good players signing up for renewed contracts.
It's pretty surreal alright. Long may it continue though!

McSharry commits future to Connacht
Dave McSharry has signed a contract extension keeping him with Connacht Rugby until the summer of 2015.
McSharry joined Connacht in 2011 and since then the former Templeogue schoolboy has proven himself as a front line starter in the centre.
An exceptional ball carrier and a key component in Connacht’s defensive line, McSharry has started in 16 games this season, bringing his total tally to 30 senior caps to date.
He has established himself as a dangerous runner and his attacking prowess came to the fore this season with tries against the European Champions Leinster and Premiership Champions Harlequins.
The 23-year-old earned his first Ireland ‘A’ cap this year when he was named in the Wolfhounds side to play the England Saxons at the Sportsground. A week later, he received a call up to the Ireland Six Nations training squad.
Dave said:
“I’m obviously delighted to sign for a further two years with Connacht. These are exciting times in the club with the squad that’s being built and the players coming through, not to mention new coach Pat Lam coming on board.
“On a personal level, it’s been a big year for me getting my first Wolfhounds cap and being part of the senior Six Nations squad.
“I am still improving as a player and I feel Connacht is the best place for me to continue that progress, getting the chance to play in big games consistently and being part of a squad that is really developing and going places.
“I would like to thank the departing Eric (Elwood), Billy (Millard) and Mike (Forshaw) for all the work they have put in with me over the last two years and I wish them all the best with their futures.”
Chief Executive Tom Sears said:
“Dave has proven himself to be one of the best young players in the country and it is another really positive sign for Connacht that he sees his future with us.
“His performances this season have attracted great interest, not least with the National selectors, and we have every confidence that he can continue to develop and be a key part of an exciting Connacht side that has great ambition.
“With our own hugely talented players committing like Dave and those who have signed new contracts recently, top new signings like Craig Clarke, Aly Muldowney and Fionn Carr coming in and with a few additional players we expect to bring in before the start of next season, we are delighted with the way the squad is taking shape. We think next season will be an exciting one for everyone involved with Connacht Rugby and we fully expect to keep improving and start challenging the sides currently ahead of us.”

Deasy is a player I'd like to have seen here a couple of years back, at this stage I'm not sure, as a squad option he may be useful as an Irish qualified option.
That's what I mean. Next year we could be down Nikora and Parks with Jarvis and Carty no where near Rabo standard so having Deasy as a back-up wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. He could be our no. 3 this season coming and the year after move to no. 2 and compete with whoever we bring in to replace Parks with. He's done well at Munster A and with a run of games who knows.

As good as Flannery in throwing abilities over the last 10 years. An absolute iceman in pressurized situations. He made up for the massive loss that was Cronin for previous two seasons.

au contraire: +1 on that.

I also heard that Scott Deasy is probably leaving Munster. What do people think of him?
