Dillane/Roux, International pairing, would disagree

But what kind of message is that sending out to our Kids ?tomsauce2000 wrote:

The idea that cancelling the contract of a man who was "already on notice after being blacklisted by police" and then dragged his girlfriend to the ground, leaving her bloody and bruised sends out the wrong message to children is ridiculous.
Personally I agree with his contract being revoked but the issue is complex. There are people who think he should have been given another chance and that's fair enough, it's not black and white, but to come on here claiming the high moral ground on this "as someone who was always taught to stand up for what's right regardless of personal cost" is a bit silly really in the context of his actions.
Anyway, I agree with the others, it is old news now.[/quote]
My words were in reference to the different ways the two situations were handled by the IRFU and not the actions of Sevu Reece. If they were adhering with a moral policy, then Coulson's contract should have been cancelled just like the rest regardless of the financial cost. I've never ever condoned Reece's actions in any way. Feel free to disagree with me all you like but please don't put words in my mouth. No moral high ground, just me expressing my opinion like everyone else. Now can we possibly move on and talk about Rugby for a change.

It's old news now. It's over. Move on ...
I was wondering when the Right Rev. P..P..P...Pinky would preach down to us again from his pulpit. What's happened to you Pinky, you used to be mildly humourous which helped us all to overlook the complete lack of substance in any of your posts. But now the only thing you have to offer apart from your moral preachings is travel advice. Sad really.

"If Sevu Reece can't be the perfect role model for our children, then he doesn't deserve to be a professional sportsperson, Right ?"
He can surely be whatever he and other professional organisations believe they want him to be, but I'm comfortable that the authorities at Connacht Rugby think differently.
Well as long as you and the other holier than thou members of the congregation of The church of the Media Socialites are happy then how can the rest of us mere mortals ever deign to disagree. As long as we have you setting the standards for everyone to live up to then the world is safe.
You were all strangely silent last year when the IRFU decided to honour the contract they'd offered Denis Coulson. Of course the big difference with that case was that since Denis Coulson totally denied any culpability for the crime of which he was accused (And I admit I've no idea or opinion as to his guilt or innocence) and he was never charged with any crime, then the IRFU would have had to pay off his contract if they hadn't honored it just like they did in Ulster, and then go and pay a replacement LH also.
Sevu Reece immediately admitted his guilt and remorse for his actions. He then took steps to atone for his actions through total abstinence from alcohol and counselling with his partner. But the admission of guilt gave the IRFU a legal way of cancelling his contract without have to pay one cent. They bowed to pressure from The Church of Social Media, because it was the easy option and cost nothing. So the guy who admits his guilt and sets out to atone for his crime is the one that get's shafted. As Michael Corleone once said "It's Just business, Nothing Personal".

Yes he's an electric runner. But in any of the video I've watched, he hasn't properly done a tackle or clean a ruck. He was not adapted to northerm hemisphere IMO.
Could have been on the fringe of main squad, like Vainikolo was, but certanly not the key player some might have been lured by...
I'm very happy very good players from within, Leader, Scholes and de Buitlear, will get some chances.
We much more need a LH.
If Bealham is out, Carey is ok, McCoy is back in 5 weeks
If Buckley is out, we're done. Look at McCabe vs Glasgow.
Peter is decent scrummger but not much more. IMO that's the position where the gap between 1st choice and those behind is the hugest (waiting for COD to gain experience).
10 is the other debate, but as we've not seen Horwitz yet, let's stay opitmistic
