We can't run with Blade alone, even with him being the 4th best scrum half in the country after Murray, Marmion, and Cooney. With Mitchell not at the required level to start the run of difficult games ahead, then we're going to have to get in a medical joker. Munster got Mathewson for Murray despite having THREE other fit scrum halves on the books!

Looks like the IRFU are calling the shots on this one as I am sure he could have gone for surgery after the Ulster/ Argies game. Shame really, never got going for one reason or any other. Would have liked to see him get his chance but not a massive loss other than at squad depth

I saw that also, and is confirmed by Brive, Possibly the emergence of De Buitlear may have helped his decision.
