Other than that you would look at players who might not be kept on by their province after under-20 level.. Conor McKeon being someone I heard was joining Connacht..
Others possibly: Coulson, Donnellan, Trenier, Gardiner, Timmins among others..

My safe bets would be Ciaran Gaffney and Jerome Harimate. Anyone else people would recommend?

columoc wrote: Interesting that all three Connacht lads came through Cistercian Roscrea. Don't know if that says anything or not, just extraordinary that they all came through the same Leinster school.
Its been commented upon before that it is the school that Connacht is most affiliated with and young players who aren't at good rugby schools are sometimes encouraged to move there. The coaching staff visit fairly often which makes the move worthwhile for anyone in the sub academy. I don't know how the initial connection occurred although I think Duffy went to Roscrea.
Also don't let Rossie catch you calling it a Leinster School!

Ireland have named eight uncapped players in a 28-strong squad for this summer’s IRB Junior World Championship in New Zealand.
Coach Mike Ruddock has included eight uncapped players with Diarmaid Dee, Dylan Donnellan, John Madigan, Darragh Moloney and Craig Trenier named in the forwards, while William Dardis, Ryan Foley, Ciaran Gaffney join the backs.
Four players remain from last year’s tournament in Brittany, where Ireland finished in eighth position. Peter Dooley, Jack O’Donoghue, Peadar Timmins and Alex Wootton will get a second chance to play in the tournament. Connacht backrow Seán O’Brien will captain the side.

There is players coming through but open screening sessions widens the pool of players that can be looked at.
Agreed there will always be a lad at some minor club or school who might be the business but because of geography or luck hasn't being seen before. It's relatively inexpensive to run and you might catch a diamond.

Heard one of the guys who was tjing and he said Munster looked they'd a lot more done than Connacht at this stage but its early days. Don't see anything wrong with dominoes or the open screening sessions/trials. Lost 31? 7
Our try was nice. There was a major problem with our lineout. From what I saw we won 1 of our own 6 lineouts
I'm sure pcoyle will have better review of the match
Dominoes came at full time, connacht lads need a hell of a lot more steak then pizza. Size difference was huge
Oh and another thing to add, on twitter and Facebook about 2weeks ago, the branch was advertising open trials
Is there no players coming through schools or under 18 that they had to have open trials
One for connacht employee was lost for words when he seen it
