Any updates for Co-ordinator, Mr O'Grady.

The later you leave the planning the fewer people will travel. Have a look at Ulster and Munster sites, both have full away trips for all HC matches already up on their sites.

I know we won't get their numbers, but at least if there was someone to co-ordinate the info being posted on this forum.

Info like

Who is traveling on on what day.
What airline.
Where are people staying.
Have we a pub to meet up at.

Examples of how this could help,
Shared taxi, better hotel price if booking 5 or more rooms.

So we have had our season meeting and most of our targetted events are pencilled in.

Windsor... Ken O'Grady will be co-ordinating with you for both the home and away matches between Connacht and Biarritz. I'll put you two in touch.

one of teh listed advantages of being a STH,

FREE transport from nominated locations across the province and Ireland for selected games

wonder how far that would stretch, bus to airport perhaps :P

Exact fixtures are out. Game is Friday 14th Dec at 21:00 local in Pard des Sports, Aguilera.

21:00 kick off would be a very late return

Good point, but the only way to get there from Ireland I can see is Dublin-Bordeaux on Thursday which needs 2 days off work. So I reckon Ronan's suggestion is worth a look. Also, the shortness of the trip (no/less accomodation/beer etc.) would to a great extent ameliorate the high cost of a charter trip.... even in Friday out the next day would be worth considering.

CC and CB have been looking into chartered flights as an option but it's coming to €400 per person for the return. I am guess that this is too expensive for most, so while the CB are still look at flights I think we are going to switch focus and look at Bordeaux->Biarritz maybe.
We have a season-planning meeting coming up soon and we will identify resources to get the details down.

On the charter front, I know the IRFU run a trip to a six nations game every year, with the flight going and coming back on the same day as the game. I'm not sure how realistic this is, but I'd imagine the less time you have a plane + crew tied up, the less the cost will be. It would also remove the need for hotels. This would only be possible if the trip was organised after the exact fixtures are known of course.

It's too early for december. Only until 8th december. You are unlucky !
The Biarritz-Bordeaux line is the line n° 61 (Hendaye-Bordeaux)-regional web site
www.ter-sncf.com/Regions/aquitaine/Fr/Se...oraires/Default.aspx

www.voyages-sncf.com/ is the web site for the main trains (national and international)
Usually there are 3 or 4 trains in the morning.

Can you check the train times from Biarritz to Bordeaux on Sat 15th Dec.

I can only fine 1 morning train at 07:53 on this web site www.voyages-sncf.com

That would be too early the morning after the match.

Hello I'm Annie and I am a member of the main fan club BOPB, AUPA

I am the owner of the Hotel Gardenia told you about my friend Jakes. My hotel is conveniently located downtown, close to all shops, bars and restaurants, 4mn walk from the seafront and town center.

If you wish, I can offer attractive rates, and reserved for fans of teams that our club receives.

I could provide you with adresses of bars or restaurants welcoming rugby fans not too expensive.

Fred Gravé, our President could give you more informations.

Thank you for letting me know your needs

I hope to go in Galway on 7th December but I heard it's difficult to travel until your town

Best Regards

Annie
