Munster won 21-17. Very little about poc so far other than he played and looked very light. Foley aparantly was calling the lineout. Henry struggled to hit his man. Munster used 3 hookers and only scannell hit mark regularly. Ryan at th was mom apparantly. Stander, sheridan, jj, dineen and scanlon the other standouts. Didnt see leinster team. Big crowd there aparantly.

Is Ryan not out for the Italy game?

As far as I know he's being monitored.

There's absolutely no way the man is near match fit. If Kidney was desperate, and with the number of injuries he may well be, he might be tempted to have POC on the bench depending how well he comes through today's A game. Sure Munster wouldn't be happy to see him lining out against Italy and it would truly be a desperate act of a very desperate man to name him to the squad.

Donnacha Ryan and Mike McCarthy must be sh*tting themselves. He's anyway fit and Yoda could start him against Italy.

Concussions are always a concern and you don't want to rush him back, but he has a couple of weeks to recover.

Dont know much about diack but tomie is not a 7 in the traditonal sense. He is a strong ball carrier and tackler. He is a 6.5 to use george hooks term. Not big enuf to play 6 and not really a 7.
It will be jackson starting.

Shame it ended like this but it was the right decision. He still has some fans/trolls commentating that he should start against France but I think that's provincial blindness, most of m Munster friends now admit that Keatley should be the starting 10 at Munster. He was a great player and has the medals to prove it. There was some other interesting titbits in the article as well.

Ian Madigan and Jonathan Sexton have been named in the squad.

There are still doubts about Sexton’s availability so Jackson or Madigan to start?

Mike McCarthy is also named and is therefore potentially available for selection against France.

Robbie Diack, Tommy O’Donnell and Andrew Trimble have also been picked in the extended squad. Huge fan of Diack and looking at him and O'Donnell it seems Kidney is toying with bringing in a 7 to slow down ball, will be interesting to see if one of them make the bench.

Backline players Robbie Henshaw and Daren Cave were not considered due to picking up concussions while playing for their provinces. Henshaw with a concussion is a big worry for us.

Rog has been dropped from the ireland squad for the weekend. Unfortunate end to a wonderful international career. Its no coincidence that he was at 10 during irelands most successful period in history.
Good luck Rog and thanks for the many fantastic memories.

Yeah this really messed up my Superbru ratings. The only thing about it is it messed up everyone else's as well. Thought it was kinda sad how the Cork Con Mafia still went on about how O'Gara has it in him to start against France when it was obvious to everyone that he is a spent force.

not one drawn game in the league this season until this weekend and then they start arriving like buses. Munster looked very poor last night. Can't remember ever seeing a munster side as lacking in conviction.

ROG was bad alright. Still think Kidney will go with him. Keatley wasn't helped playing fullback for the full game. No sure how Jackson is fitness wise so Ian Madigan is looking good for at least getting a sub position.

Poor performance from Munster tonight at Scarlets, a late try took the bad look off the score but they were well beaten.

Huge game against the Ospreys at Thomond Park at the start of March, the loser of that could be in trouble to get a top 4 spot.

Munster have a favourable enough run in to come though with 4 games against bottom half sides. You'd still fancy them for top 4 but doubt Ulster or Leinster will be too worried about facing them.

As for ROG playing at 10 next week, lord help us. Scotland are ordinary but I'd really fancy them next week if we line out with ROG at 10.

I think it's big for Penney as it will give him more time with some goodwill from the fans who seem on the fence about his new philosophy. Game was over after 5 minutes and wouldn't read anything into it.

I don't know about comfortable, but anything other than a Quins win on current form would be a surprise.

If they revert to RO'G at 10, they're screwed basically. They'll never put enough pressure on Quins there to win by kicking penalties, and with RO'G at 10 I don't think they'll offer enough threat with ball in hand (Quins defence is top notch, a lesson they learned from the loss to Leinster in the Bloodgate game).

Keatley is the man for the Quins game, he'll run the line and come into the line as an extra attacker, not just shovel ball out and kick it away to Quins excellent back three...
