Most of the weight is the "Official Spectator Guide", which is a brochure containing information that is all available on the website that no-one could have bought tickets without visiting. The guide explains a wonderful feature whereby you can take a picture of the ticket with your phone to unlock amazing hints like how to get to the stadium (assuming you have downloaded some app).
So you buy tickets on the internet and they send you a big wad of paper with a printout of what you've already read on the internet and instructions on how to get back onto the internet to read it all again.
£15 well spent.
At least I managed to convince them to redirect it to work so I don't have to traipse to some DHL depot.
On the plus side, there are tickets in there somewhere!

We've gotten word that our friends at the Munster Rugby Supporters Club are running busses London to Cardiff and return on match days. They've indicated that they are offering the same rates to Clan Members as to MRSC members, but that spaces are limited. Currently the price is €42.00 return which is a great deal.

He'll probably be back to some of the same houses tomorrow for anyone who bought two sets of tickets.

the poor dhl guy was driving all over the place delivering only world cup tickets, he was given all of Offaly so that's a fair chunk of driving.

I still can't come to terms with the prices they had the cheek to charge. £125 is not far off €180. Utter madness. Does anyone know if they're struggling to sell tickets, or have they been justified in their pricing (at least from a commercial perspective)?
Speaking of exchange rate, I had booked a hotel in Bristol months in advance which I just cancelled because we got a place in Cardiff, but when the refund hit my account I ended up getting €60 more back than I'd paid due to the big exchange rate difference. A bit of unplanned currency speculation
Yeah I think I might be up a fiver buying and selling those tickets at face value. I will have to find a Greek in London and buy her a pint.
Re ticket sales, it's hard to tell. They seemed to sell out but then they just released more so it's hard to know what the real situation is. Ireland v Romania sold out of cheap seats in Wembley pretty fast and I don't think anyone believed that.
The Cat D tickets for Italy and France games are actually decent value at £50. Cheaper than a typical 6N game. But outside of that it gets into silly territory.
Looking at the difference in position between my old and new seats on a seat map I found (not sure whether it's accurate for RWC) there is definitely not a £75 difference.

Also, I'll be in Galway Sept 11-14 and would prefer to hand deliver the ticket, if possible, or just mail it when I get there to avoid overseas shipping from the states.

at least with physical tickets, the scammers have to fake holograms etc,
ideally, with e-tickets you should be able to transfer a ticket to someone online securely, via digital wallets, but no one has done that yet.
In general I'd agree, but the online resale thing pretty much eliminates that risk. Anyone selling a printed e-ticket is more or less guaranteed to be dodgy as they could just sell it online if it was genuine.

One of the guys got his the Friday before. They're on their way alright but gonna take a good while to get them all out
Some aspects of the ticketing system are really good, but others make no sense at all.
The online resale thing is a good idea as it should cut down on touting, but then they make it massively complicated by sending out millions of physical tickets by overpriced courier instead of using e-tickets.

I shouldn't ask as I really can't afford to go to more than just the one I've already booked, but .... it's the RWC
I have 2 Cat Bs for the Italy game that I paid £125 each for during a brief lapse of sanity but then I picked up a £50 one so offloading them via the website but if you want them you're more than welcome.
Can't make that weekend
I've just booked my summer holiday, so I think the bank balance is happy I can't go
