It's a little lost in the news but Irish Sevens won 3 from 3 yesterday in Poland, have England in the Qtrs today. Great opportunity to get to Hong Kong next year and qualify for both WC and the Sevens circuit. They are becoming a serious outfit.

Great win for Ireland played some nice Rugby. Marmion looked like a leader out there much better that McGrath who for some reason slowed the game down. TOH did all the fullback basics and tortured the USA defense. Quinn was a beast as usual and Heff had a 2 blips but otherwise good performance for a first cap

McGinty was one of the 3 best US Players
TOH one of the 3 best Irish ones (with Ringrose and Conan)
Heff had a mixed 20 min show, Marmion was good as usual, but so was McGrath..

So looking forward to this game against the USA. First to see AJ, he has a place in my heart, and then to see Tiernan wreaking havoc with his offloads. So thats the Connacht aspect. Looking forward to Stockdale, what a young talent, Ringrose in the centre and Carbery at out half beside Marmion. Have to admit I have never felt such a level of excitement. This is the future of Irish rugby and all these players are so talented

Will Heffernan be 'of the bench' which is a philosophical discussion or will he be ready to enter the frey 'off the bench' which would hopefully be what you were suggesting?

With how little Schmidt uses his bench?

Hopefully they all get enough time to show their talent.

Ya sorry I meant he's the 5th prop, and if you were to purely divide Bealham and Ryan one side as tightheads and have Healy and Kilcoyne as Loose that Porter was the back up to ensure there was cover both sides, he might be giving a bench spot at loose if Finlay is starting a game and one of the other lads gets an injury you never know with these tours, McGrath was on the bench covering tighthead against Argentina in 2014

MulMan wrote: Ya I know but Porter still is the cover as 3rd Loosehead too, as he covers both sides like Bealham and Ryan, ya that's what I feel too unfortunately although I think Buckley has better potential than Cronin, ah ya obviously lots of people prefer Earls he's just one of my least favourite Irish players

Porter will be 4th choice behind Healy Kilcoyne Beahlam. If one of the above gets injured a Buckley or Cronin will be called in. You won't see porter covering loosehead
