Meanwhile, Connacht’s Cork-born scrumhalf Frank Murphy suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury that will rule him out for six to eight months. The 30-year-old will undergo surgery in the next couple of weeks before facing into a long rehabilitation process.

His injury follows the hamstring damage that will see Paul O’Donohue sidelined for another eight weeks. It means that Connacht are a little short at scrumhalf, relying on Ireland Under-20 international Kieran Marmion and David Moore.

Coach, Eric Elwood admitted: “With Frank’s injury it is our job now to keep up-skilling our two young nines and make sure they are ready. But they are two good lads and two good scholars of the game. Kieran has been terrific and we have great faith in himself and Dave Moore. Paul O’Donohoe is going to be out for another eight or nine weeks with his hamstring injury.”

I spoke to Parks on Sat, asked him would he be back next week, he said it was 50:50, gave the impression that he would be ready for the next home game (leinster).

i was at the ground today, seen frank walking around taking it handy, and i saw john muldoon running across the car park in his casual clothes, i was thinking was he late for training or if he was to hungover after the hurling final

Mul, George and Frank Murphy all took knocks in the Zebre game. I'd say Frank Murphy will be out for a while again as he was taken off straight away after getting injured.

at half time, the big 4 signings were all out on the pitch and they all said they had a leg injury. parks, white, poolman and wright-harris. also brian murphy is out.

I had a look at the forecast for Friday in Parma and it looks like it will be a dry, sunny and fairly hard track so would we not be shooting ourselves in the foot slightly trying to make an example of Fets (injury permitting).

If EE was sensible he'd drop Griffin and Fetu for the next game. Griffin to get 100% fit and Fetu cause its an easy way to drop him.

Heard that Griffs, JOC, Fetu and Henshaw all picked up knocks at the weekend.

Not sure how reliable that is though.

i thought that with the the injuries have gone in preseason and the lack of official information available about the status of those injured players, that we could do with a thread where people could post any info they recieve or find on this topic.
Hopefully anyone on here who are close or connected to the connacht setup might see their way to contributing here.
