4 sub appearances in the HC in 2010/11, home and away against Racing, away to Saracens, and the final. Think only the away game in Racing gave him appreciable gametime.

3 starts in the Rabo that year (Ospreys, Ulster, Aironi) and 8 sub appearances.

Plus he's had (an injuty interrupted) season in the Championship - 5 starts and 6 sub appearances according to the Bristol site.

Not a bad bit of business at all, I was beginning to think that we'd have to clone Loughney twice and play him all across the front row.

I'm not sure if I'm thinking of the right guy (pardon the pun). Did he play for the Leinster senior team at all?

Seriously posh name. Welcome Jason :)

Jason Harris-Wright will leave Bristol Rugby and return home to Ireland to join RABODirect Pro12 side Connacht ahead of the 2012/13 season.

The hooker, who joined the Club in November 2011, made eleven appearances in an injury-hit campaign, including five starts.

Bristol Rugby would like to thank Jason for his contribution and wish him the best of luck for the future.

I usually agree but the like of Hanrahan who has zero senior level experience is someone I'd be reticent about. I'd prefer a player who had at least played a few games at senior level so we could have a barometer of were there at.

Not sure that's the right attitude. Any player that comes to Connacht at the moment is a threat to leave after a couple of seasons should they do well enough to catch the eye of a higher profile team with deeper pockets. Was happy enough to have the likes of Cronin, Keatley & Carr at Connacht for 2-3 seasons. In the end it was a win-win. If Hanrahan comes to Connacht on a 2 or 3 year deal and can help the team then he can leave with my blessing after his contract is up. And if Connacht continue their upward trajectory over that period it will become a place that is harder for players to leave as Connacht will be more competitive with the other provinces and it's players likely more attractive to the Irish selectors.

True but with a new Manager coming in I don't think they are gonna get rid of any of the young guys until he's had a proper look and can assess himself which will take a season. Also Barnes has played a decent amount of rugby this season.

As for Dineen yes he should probably move but after getting a few games at the tail end he might wanna give it another year to make the breakthrough and Hanrahan to my knowledge hasn't made the jump yet to senior level so why should we blood him for him to turn around and then leave?

With only 1 Centre leaving Munster (MAFI) and 2 coming in Laulala and Downey and with Earls there too.
When will the likes or Barnes Hanrahan and Dineen get serious game time.
I mean if one of those guys went to Connacht for a season or 2 the experiance and game time would be fantastic !!
Regular Pro 12 and Heineken Cup games. Not a fear of them playing Heineken cup for Munster

There's no way that Munster will release Danny Barnes, JJ Hanrahan or Ivan Dineen. Not this season anyway. JJ Hanrahan in particular has been compared to the second coming by some Munster guys down here. I'd say our most likely candidate is Sheridan or maybe someone from the AIL. If it is Sheridan I'd be leery as he's had a few bad injuries the last few years. Maybe a one year deal.

Of the Hookers, Harris-Wright would make the most sense in that he's still only 23 or so and our record in bringing on young Irish Hookers is excellent. Let Dan get his mitts on him for two seasons and it'll do him the world of god. That is of course presuming that he wants away from Bristol, if he's been playing well enough Brizzle will be ok with keeping him on they'd only be shedding if they went down to Premiership. Everyone there currently would be on budget I would believe so don't expect a clearout, maybe one or two underperformers...

As possibly available IQ number 2 : J Harris Wright (Bristol will not compete in premiership, have lost in play off), Brian Blaney (probably released by London Irish), and Henry (3rd Munster choice)

As 12 Eamon Sheridan released by Leinster, Noel Reid who could play 10 or 12, or one of the Munster young talents, Danny Barnes, JJ Hanrahan, Ivan Dineen.
