Seems to be a lot of criticism directed towards one individual in the branch here. While I don't know how the branch works, I can't imagine this was a unilateral decision by one person, I'd have to imagine other full time Connacht officers, and the IRFU, had to give the ok before the decision was made.

In the 90s EOS walked out on us the day before the team went on a training camp in Sweden. In the Noughties we lost one coach when the IRFU tried to shut us down. We then got stuck with a lame duck in Bradley for almost half a decade after he'd told the squad he was moving on to a better gig. And let's not forget all six [strike]seasons[/strike] months of Pat's long goodbye.
While "Mensa" Ruane's latest brainwave is a royal pain, coaching issues are pretty much standard operating procedure for Connacht. And the rest of the provinces too, come to think of it. If you're so ticked off you want to hand your ST back, maybe reflect on whether you were looking for an excuse.

As someone who has a habit of acting without taking a deep breath, that would be cutting your/Connacht’s nose despite your face. A mass refund on season tickets will not help the situation.

Something positive about the 21018/19 season from Connacht Rugby would be very much appreciated.
I've have my season ticket already so can't protest in a way they might pay attention to, but things appear really headless at present.
With only the usual list of non-candidates mentioned as a replacement you'd have to feel that the timing and circumstances are a disaster for attracting an outside applicant of quality.
This affair will, like the events in Ulster, be a gift that keeps on giving for the media types who never rate us as more than a development side.
I concur with everything you’re saying bar the replacement.... if this was decided weeks ago they must be speaking to a list of candidates, they have decided Carolan is getting it if not they are going to look even more foolish

So what you're really saying is if you get the job, you bring a major new sponsor on board. I can see it now, our new stadium The Buckie Arena, Buckie The Budgie to replace Eddie The Eagle. Pinky you sly old dog.

Jackman ruled himself out earlier too on Off the Ball.
If EOS rules himself out too I'll be delighted.

No more than Frank Murphy, Heaslip has reffed hundreds of games without ever picking up a whistle.

Not sure. Awards night on Sunday so it's not exactly a weekend they can go to ground. There'll be plenty of the Fourth Estate donning the black tie for that one either way ...
In fact, maybe the whole thing is just a ruse to sell tickets for the ball, where they will announce the grand unveiling of their new coach ... Kieran Keane ...
