Very big Italian team beat a spirited Connacht team.
Courage is knowing what lies on the other side and still opening the door.

I believe there an underage Italy team (u18 or u19 I think) touring the country and playing the provinces at the moment.

Seems a little unfortunate that Kieran won't be avalable especially considering that he only played 3 min in south africa. On the other hand it was a long season and he may need the rest. I wonder if this is the same for Matt, Tiernan, Ultan, Quinn and Finlay?
The interview was with Kieran and Denis as part of their Mazda duties so I'd say that's why Kieran's non-availability was singled out. I'd be very surprised if the same didn't apply to the other lads who all had more playing time. There was chat earlier in pre-season about the internationals being available next weekend, but that doesn't tally with previous years where touring Irish internationals players miss one or more games the following September.

Not worried at all to have Cooney/Blade against Glasg. SH is the (only) area where we've the deepest bench of the provinces

Buckley was part of the Connacht squad who flew over to meet Sale for an intense training session yesterday to fill the void left by their lack of pre-season fixtures.
“Contact training sessions, if you like,” the 26-year-old described the day in England. Scores weren’t kept, attacking and defensive setups were evenly shared.
“An opportunity to run a couple of plays against full opposition, who didn’t know the calls and plays, then swap around and we’d defend play against good opposition who we weren’t familiar with.
“It was a good opportunity to implement some of the structures we worked on in pre-season into a match environment.”
Kieran Marmion was not on the trip to England and won’t feature for his province next weekend as he was part of the summer tour to South Africa with Ireland.

It's a nothing game. A warm up match. Fans would learn very little, if nothing from it.
The only benefit from this game, is that the players get to play in a more competitive training session.
Relax everyone. The real stuff starts next week

Utterly stupid behaviour. Simply cannot believe management simply turning a blind eye to fans. Ludicrous
