Bad luck as much as a failed conversion. Burst his knee in pre-season, wasn't properly fit until Christmas/New Year I think, by which stage McGinty was in to cover outhalf and Robb and Parata had established themselves as excellent options in the outside backs.

Is there a pattern of announcing signings and contract extensions during the week leading up to a home game? That would make sense wouldn't it? Create a bit of a buzz and get a few more people through the gate?

If that's the plan we'll have to wait until the week commencing 21st of March....not that the Leinster game'll need any more buzz.
