Robb had a lot of praise for our Academy in last week's press conference so it could well be that some of his ex academy mates are taking note!

Janties is a starting 10. Boshoff nowhere to be seen.

Marnitz Boshoff not in Lions Currie Cup team. Is that a sign that he is in Super Rugby team for Saturday? Perhaps Jantjies is resting?

It was probably McCaw. He was in Dublin earlier in the week. Fair play to Pat if he's managed to sign him up Not sure if he can play second row though :P

So almost certainly either a forward or a back.
Good, those are exactly the positions we need.
Any chance it could have been a Performance Nutritionist though?
That would really cap our recruitment off nicely.

Seen that. He thought it might be a back row or centre.

Say what you like about Leinster fans but they do the best rugby rumours by far.

Ah nice to summons Brodie Retallick to the west.

I am sure he will enjoy playing with Dillane.

Messam for number 8 too please!!!

Now that would be the envy of Ireland!!

It's a strange old competition because the franchise teams qualify for the top tier of the tournament proper anyway so the Lions, etc. have literally nothing to play for in the qualification rounds. Good that he is getting game time at least. Only thing is if Elton Jantjies is wanted by the Springboks (almost certain), will the Lions want to hold on to Marnitz til October to defend their Currie Cup title?

Our new outhalf is playing Currie Cup (Qualification rounds, roughly equivalent to the old Vodacom Cup). Lions lost their first game but Boshoff was 5/5 off the tee and missed a drop goal attempt.

Second Lions game was a 10 try rout of the Namibian team in this competition. Boshoff played an hour and converted 6 of 8 tries scored while he was on the field.
