Heroic defensive stand there at the end. Really thought Munster would get in there and was just hoping Connacht could hold them out long enough so that it was only about a LBP to Munster but they did me one better. Leader's conversion was key, there's probably no stopping Munster at the end if a converted try would have won it for them.

Finally got the stream going just as Keatley was sending over his kick to make it 0-13, didn't have much hope at that point but they did well to get a toehold in the game and keep it close at half time despite Aki's penalty on Zebo. They were the better team in the second half and dominated possession.

Congrats to Connacht on the win and a great performance. 66% possession and territory after 66 min says it all really. Pack were immense and backs delivered on the platform given. Disappointed not to get L BP at end. Game management poor from Keatley and Pom in 2nd half.

Don't think ball carriers à la Stander are happy with heavy rain... ;)

Borders no.2 wrote: I think Munster have picked the right team for this one given the conditions, strong ball carrying back row and two kickers and 10 and 12. The rest of the pack has enough experience and bulk to give us problems. Conway gave us a lot of problems last year. Zebo will be dangerous in attach from full back but is worth testing out defensively.

Unfortunately for us they have Zebre next week so they probably see this as their last decent trial run before Saracens.

Where we can target them is fairly limited. Williams is an obvious weak link who we managed to make a hero out of last year. Cutting off the supply of ball at scrum half is essential if we are to have any chance. We need to be all over Williams like a rash. If Rodney wants to show he can step up to the next level he needs to put the squeeze on John Ryan at scrum time.

The Munster bench isn't exactly frightening but we'll probably need the wind advantage in the first half and kick any shots we get at goal to still be in the game late on.

I'd be satisfied if offered a losing bonus point right now but who knows.

I'd bite your arm for that. But I just can't see our pack exerting enough dominance over a pack containing several capped internationals.

Glad to see Ronaldson getting a start, way overdue IMO. I'm not sure the stagnant, predictable backline play is all down to Carty but maybe Craig can add a spark. Of course the game plan will have a say in how much he can unleash those outside him but I'd really like to see some of the potential of this group realised. Should be a good game. They have to start out strong and keep on the front foot to help negate Munster's kicking game. A LBP wouldn't be the worse thing but I really hope they go all out for the win, it's well within their reach.

Maybe Lam feels that Matt would be a target for Keatley to land bombs on all night, Daragh is certainly the better fielder and kicker, but he'll have to up his defense from recent performances.

EDIT: Missed an entire page worth of comments, Rathead had already made the point

"Our march is quite slow y'know, when we get to where we want to get to, it's going to take time, but when we get there it's going to be fantastic." - Johnny O'Connor 2013
