Week 8 update for the 2015/2016 Season

(If anyone is wondering it took 69 points to get into the play offs last season, and 70 the season before. I couldn't bring myself to add that line just yet.)

Not worth starting a new thread for this stat, but I note we are joint 3rd top try scorers in Europe so far this season:

1: Toulon - 35 tries/9 matches (3.9 tries/game)
2: Cardiff(!) - 32 tries/9 matches (3.6 tries/game)
: Clermont - 30 tries/9 matches (3.3 tries/game)
: Connacht - 30 tries/9 matches (3.3 tries/game)

Obviously the English teams have played fewer games but the only English team with > 3 tries a game is Exeter: 19 tries/6 games/3.2 tpg

Absolutely delighted that Connacht are on top, another 28 points from 15 matches should see us get to sixth, but to be honest I'd reckon that they could go even further up the table if the injuries stay away, any word on the lads who were taken off injured from the Treviso match?

After the good news of Edinburgh loss, it's time to evaluate where we are after the 1st run of game.
We tend to stay focus on ourselves, but we have to look at the other rival squads fixtures.

If Connacht reaches 56 points, we're through, top 6, I predicted it, I'm now convinced about that

Embra will NEVER get 38 points, they are an average team, with big away games to come
And our second rival, Ospreys, would need 45 points to get past us. 15 games remaining, it requires 10 wins and 5 BP. Ok they will face weaker opposition, but it's nearly a perfect run if they do it, and I think they won't.

Now one and only one target : earn those fuc**** 28 pts, we've done half of the way to paradise already!!!

Interesting to see we are 12 up on last season at this stage. If we maintained our results against the results from last season for the rest of the season we would break the 60 points barrier which has been more than enough for a Top 6 finish every season since the Italians joined.

This is a great thread, perhaps it could be brought up to date, renamed and the chart put on the first page?
