Glad to see Eric came down from the stand and took the acclaim at the end. It was the least he deserved for all he has done for Connacht Rugby.

While the performance levels tonight were miles below what Eric demands, the fact so many stayed behind after the game says it all. You had more people remaining on after the final whistle than would have attended the combined total of the Glasgow games over a half-dozen years prior to last season.

While his tenure has had its ups and downs he leaves Connacht in a position where it can move forward. It'll be tough for Pat Lam to take it forward from here but there is hope which 4 or 5 years ago didn't exist.

Yeah I saw a few in the stand as well.

I like the Elwood road idea. Considering how much business the B&B's do on that road because of Connacht Rugby you'd think they'd be into it as well.

In that case I want the brown bag the doggies chase to be renamed the 'Fetu'u Vainikolo Memorial Hare' in recognition of him being the fastest thing on two or four legs in the Sportsground these past few years.

Not sure that Eric would want the Clan terrace renamed. He did say in his speech the other day that it was like a funeral, people only say and do nice things after they have departed!!!

If the sportsground is re-developed in the future or more than likely a new ground built then for deffo an Elwood stand would be a must.

It's gonna be emotional after this last game!!!!!

Could we be looking at the 'Elwood end' in the future or the Clan terrace renamed the 'Elwood Stand'?
