Okay lads.
Tickets go on sale in 8 hours.
Since most here are real fans, here is a link to clan tickets.

connachtrugby.tickets.ie/Listing/EventInformation/29883

In promo code type "awayteam"
these are for Glasgow fans, so any we buy, will be less Glasgow fans in clan. I bought 4 today, and plenty of my friends bought them too.

It really hasn't.

The stadium's too small and the website chosen at a time when sell outs were unimaginable couldn't cope with the demand.

Their core customer base have been up in arms for the last two days so they've taken steps to address their complaints as best they can.

Supporters who don't have season tickets can try to buy tickets on Thursday. I hope they consider buying season tickets for next year when they see the how we're prioritised.

None of the above problems would have arisen if Connacht were being badly run.

I didn't say they were badly run. I worked in ticket sales for many years and this kind of thing at best leaves a bad impression and at worst pisses people off no end. I have no problem prioritising season ticket holders but if Connacht are going to grow their fanbase which they desperately need to do, non-season ticket holders also need to be accommodated to the best of their ability. People are already giving out on Facebook and Twitter about this late change. If there were season ticket holders, who are guaranteed a ticket for this game if they want one, queueing at the Sportsground on Monday morning, you can be damn sure there were people planning to do so tomorrow. Many have to plan their days, take time off work etc... around big ticket sales like this and in my opinion and experience this postponement, letting season ticket holders buy an extra ticket straight away causing many to lose their spot and the tickets.ie fiasco were bad, avoidable events in what was otherwise a very positive week for us.

Lads!

Glasgow haven't been told anything different so our "public" sale will still go ahead tomorrow. Our allocation hasn't sold out so there WILL be returns (given we are entitled to 25% of each stand I very much doubt we will sell out any one stand). I'd be amazed if more fans travelled for the semi than last week- Galway is awesome but it is awkward to get to and prices are no longer cheap. Many will struggle to make the trip twice in 2 weeks.

I repeat. There WILL be returns.

Ah here. It's hardly ridiculous. They're obviously doing their best to minimise the impact of the screw up on Monday morning (90% of which was entirely out of their control, the remainder a result of inexperience rather than incompetence).

At this stage, there's no doubt that they'll sell all the tickets so they can allow another 24 hours to ensure that any season ticket holder who wants to can buy two stand tickets. After that, people might be a bit annoyed at having missed out on their usual Clan ticket, but there can be no real complaints (whilst I would complain if I'd missed out on a Clan ticket, I would recognize that this wasn't a real complaint).

They've clearly learned from the mistakes that they made prior to the Grenoble match, and I'm sure they'll learn from the mistakes made for this game in time for the ECC knock outs next season.

Ah here what about the thousands of people who are not season ticket holders who want to go to this game? People that Connacht need to try and turn into regulars if not future season ticket holders. I'm sure there'll be plenty of them looking for tickets tomorrow like they were told. Why are they now being inconvenienced as well? Could they not just hold back the tickets they have supposedly reserved for season ticket holders seperately and release the rest as planned with any leftovers released later? The whole thing has been a shambles.

Unless something has changed for this game they'll be on tickets.ie. Any link from the connachtrugby site will bring you to tickets.ie.

Are there still STHs who haven't been able to get tickets of any kind?

WTF?? The portal was down for a few hours so now people need a full extra day? Ridiculous

Probably not as simple as that! My Juniors aren't on my season ticket account as they wanted to see their own names on the big display of season tickets holders in the Sportsground:evil: Stupidly on my part, I neglected to add email addresses to their season tickets so the only way for me to get their tickets for the 21st was to phone that bloomin 399977 number. 24/7 ?!? thats a joke, its impossible to get an answer from it and I've wasted more time trying so my only real option is to get into the Sportsground tomorrow. Im sure there are others in similar circumstances, not everyone has a email address.

Haha, you can't please everyone

Surely season ticket holders deserve preference. Perhaps, and maybe I'm completely wrong here, but if Glasgow have sold their allocation now, maybe some Clan tickets will be available to Season Ticket holders again in the morning

I think it's perfectly fine that they've extended the deadline

pinky wrote: Probably not kermis, but from what I can gather from the announcement on the Warriors website, the Glasgow sales were just via a hidden link that they asked the recipients not to share. There's a very good chance that once your STHs and regulars are sorted out, someone will share the link and eventually it'll go viral and people over here will be dipping into the away allocation.
I could be wrong about that of course. I'm not exactly sure how the system operated for away fans. Were ye limited in how many tickets ye could buy and did ye need to identify yourselves as season ticket holders somehow? Or was it pretty much open season once you had the right link?
Not asking you to share the link. Please don't share the link. There'd be war :)

I've not shared the link for the same reasons you don't want me to. We were in similar position last year especially v Ulster. All the "usual" home support should get sorted first imo.

We got emailed a link and had to submit a "password" which identified us as the away allocation. There wasn't much personal about it. Glasgow have basically used their database to give us a link to use on tickets.ie.

There were no restrictions on numbers but I suspect that was set by Glasgow. I got our groups (including Connacht fans) in one transaction because it was easier.

If it helps if we got a home semi STHs were guaranteed their own seat and would have had first come, first serve to extra tickets before the public sale which would in effect have been any returns.
Given our recent history we have restricted the number of STHs available partly to account for any possible play off game.

For our final in Dublin and Belfast we had the same potential scramble- especially last year when numbers are less iirc. Sent a link and asked not to pass it on so that as many of our supporters could go.

I presume there's some sort of data protection issue to do anything more specific when each club uses a different system in the first place?

Welcome to the play off scrambles game! You guys are now fully paid up members! :)

Dead right about not sharing the link on here - would cause chaos.
If you wanted to PM it to me however.........;) ;)

Going to the Sportsgrounds is a bit like Mass:You stay until the players are off the pitch and never leave early!
