I didn't hear anything but the reaction of the players to his try was one of the positives of the day for me. It seemed to indicate he might be staying. Probably looking too much into it but just the way it seemed to me at the time.

The rumour in my part of the Clan Stand today was that Robbie may be signing a new one year deal with Connacht.

Anyone else hear this?

I didn't want to be the one to bump this but we were told it would be done by Christmas. I know there are other stories at the minute like Ireland captaincy and now the defence coach bomb, but this was the biggest rugby story in Ireland a month ago, I don't know what to make of the radio silence.

Ye might be onto something there Connemara Man. Leinster probably would want to make the announcement right away, but Connacht might be happy to hold off to generate excitement around something else. Though season ticket sales might be too far down the line to wait for.

Any ideas what this means for Madigan's international career? In terms of ambition & self fulfillment, a move to France makes more sense than being a pawn on the IRFU chessboard
