As Pat has been saying, Connacht Rugby is all about those that want to play here. I would like to thank Robbie for all he has done and put into Connacht Rugby over the years. He is a super player. From here on though, we should ensure others with a future here are given more game time. Robbie wants out so his heart has already left Connacht.

I'm also sure we'll see a flood of do-gooder posts later on this thread with lollipop talk about Robbie and why it's wrong to speak negatively about his decision. and fair enough as everyone entitled to his/her view but I think it's time to move on and focus on the stayers.

Im raging over this. Simply put wherever he plays next season he would be on a central contract so therefore not really about the cash.

In essence he has said he doesnt believe in the long term project here and believe Leinster's long term goal is better.

So, that's why I dont coach at anywhere close to this level, coz I'd never pick him again but I am petty & vindictive

Losing an international player who would be a leader in the squad A player who would have played a huge part in Connacht marketing strategies is a huge loss.

This is a failing IMO of the IRFU and Connacht branch negotiations of not making Connacht feel like a worthwhile place to stay. I can only see this as leading to our better players leaving on the future

I wish him the best.

And hope before he goes we get a trophy out of him

Really at this stage with all that's been going on in a pretty special season for Connacht, good riddance....!!!!

My viewpoint may soften in years to come, but right now he can just FRO....!

Shame but glad that saga is over anyhow
Announcing it on Valentines Day is rather heartbreaking though

Leinster contract as opposed to a central contract is what I'm hearing.

I think we're plugged into the same internet chatter. At this stage I'll just be glad that it's over.

Pretty much everything this season (with the exception of the Munster game) has been achieved without him.

I wish him neither good luck or bad luck.

I f***ing hope Connacht make him regret the decision though.

Pat Lam is a better coach than Leo Cullen.

Courage is knowing what lies on the other side and still opening the door.

We clearly want him at Connacht. If he really wants to stay then why would he not have signed and sealed with us already? Still negotiating over terms? Still looking at other options? I don't understand why it takes so long or more specifically, why it's taking Robbie this amount of time to make his mind up. Time for decision. Perhaps all will become clear in due course.

We don't know that tomsauce, but if it is indeed true then I am sure it will come out in the end. I remain optimistic that Robbie will stay. We're building something here.

The most disappointing thing about all this is Henshaw himself is clearly keen to leave

I was suggesting a page back that we should stop speculating on this.......but since then I've spoken to someone who would normally know about this sort of thing. They stressed it was rumours but the word was Robbie wanted to go to Leinster but the irfu were pushing hard to keep him at Connacht.

Like I said just rumour.....and it does make life for the irfu easier if they can say they tried to keep him in Galway. Gavin commiskey also made a reference on the radio along the lines of 'will Connacht be able to find the private investment to keep him in Galway' but he can be a bit of a clueless fool so wouldn't read too much into that.
