The whole "I'm going to England" one day, then "delighted to be staying in Munster" the next is so old. It does make me wonder if Robbie sold himself short by (perhaps admirably) saying so early in the process that he wants to stay in Ireland.

Like everyone else, I just want it done now.

There is clearly a lot of BS flying around regarding Irish players. As regards Henshaw, someone I don't know mentioned the one year deal in the Clan Stand. I have heard stuff up there that turned out to be true but also stuff like Marmion being 'gone back to Wales' only a couple of months ago.

I'd much prefer if it was all settled sooner rather than later but I don't think it's affecting the team at all.

That whole Earls to Saracens thing is just another smoke screen thrown around by some agent and picked up by their buddy in the Indo. The same as the Cronin to London Irish line from last week. Apparently London Ir never even spoke to him or his agent.

I see the IRFU appear to have pulled out all the stops to keep Murray and Earls at Munster. That's nice.

At this point I wish they'd just announce something rather than this endless speculation.

I'd love nothing more than for Robbie to stay but if he's leaving we need to sort out our squad for next year sooner rather than later, we need to give Pat time to unearth the next SH gem!

I don't want to be negative here, but from all I've heard, Robbie won't be staying past the end of this season.
I don't have any concrete information on this, but word around the campfire was that this has been done since December.
No clue why it's not been announced.

My tupence is I'd like him to stay, even for a year, but if he goes we move on with what we have; and it's a dam sight better than what we had in the dark days of the recent past

It would be great to have someone (only our 4th ever) selected for the Lions as a Connacht player, but it would be even better if he played as one (if his contract ran out end next season he'd be registered to another province/club by the time he played). We have spend the last 6 months wondering is he going to stay and no doubt in 6 months time he will be going through the same again.

I cant believe his signed for one year only as it shows a lack of commitment to Connacht Pat and the setup. Maybe in the small print his agreed to go elsewhere but will stay put for a season .

As lads have pointed out a one year doesnt give him the security he needs. A 2 year would have had him switching just before a Lions tour which wouldnt have helped him.

Look lets take the year and hope for something more at the end.
