So if anyone is down the pub between now and Friday, get chatting to the barman and let us know. I'd definitely take a spin into town to watch it (assuming I can't arrange a reliable stream at home).

So it seems the game is going to be on Italian free to air television, but only available here if you can point a dish at the correct satellite and stuff. Is there any chance the Clan could interest a pub with the technical know-how? I'm sure they'd see a decent spike in business as a result, and apparently it's not that difficult a thing to do.

Just saw on the press release it is live on GBFM. Didn't realise they were doing away games this season. That is welcome news anyway.Banm wrote: Balls! Was banking on a TV somewhere having it
I wouldn't rule out TV yet either.
Though synchronising the Italian pictures and the Craggy Island commentary might be a bridge too far.

Squad Update ahead of Treviso game
07th October 2014
Ahead of the team departure to Dublin on Wednesday and then Italy on Thursday morning, the Connacht Rugby squad were back to work at the Sportsground on Sunday to prepare for the GUINNESS PRO12 round 6 clash with Benetton Treviso on Friday night, kick off 8pm (Italian time).
Following the 24 – 24 draw with Cardiff Blues last Friday night, there were no major injury concerns reported by the medical team. Prop Ronan Loughney left the field early in the first half for a precautionary pitch-side concussion test but was passed fit to return to the game. The Galway man took part in full training on Monday.
Wing Matt Healy sat out the last round of PRO12 action as he was required to undergo the return-to-play protocols following a head knock sustained in the game against Glasgow in round 4. The 25-year-old has now returned to full training and will be available to Pat Lam for selection this week.
Meanwhile, 22-year-old Galway back Conor Finn, who lined out on the wing for the Eagles in their 26 – 24 interpro win over Ulster Ravens last Thursday, suffered a hip injury and is in doubt for any game time this week. The Eagles travel to England to take on Bristol RFC in the opening round of the British & Irish Cup. Kick off at Ashton Gate Stadium on Sunday 12th October is at 3pm.

Sounds promising. Satellite tuning info here: en.satexpat.com/tv/italy/
Not sure if the Dail can work that magic on their box.
Saw something on another forum about people tuning in to Leinster v Munster in Italiano that way.
Worst case scenario, should be able to stream it at home someway.

I'd like to see Craig at ten but think pat will give him another run at twelve esp after his performance from the tee and also good solid option with porter.

It has to be win at all cost for this game, Full strength team for me and send the eagles out for the La Rochelle game that's how much i care. I'd bring in Rodney for his ball carrying ability, without White the scrum will still be strong enough, Muldowney offers more than Roux. Ronaldson probably should get the call at out-half but Carty would be ok as the Italians won't be able to do what Cardiff did. If Healy is fit he's got to replace Niyi. I'm still to be convinced about Niyi, he looked hesitant a couple of times in attack and defence last Friday

The following weekend is the Challenge Cup against La Rochelle. They are doing fine in the French Top 14 and had a good win over Lyon at the weekend but are still only 2 points outside the bottom 2 and keeping outside that bottom 2 will be their only priority this season. They will send over a weakened side I have no doubt, so we can rotate there (I'd make 9 or 10 changes for that one) and hopefully still get a result. If we lose that imo we should write off the Challenge Cup for experimentation, if we do win the first game, go hell for leather away to Exeter. I really want us to do well in the Challenge Cup but we've got to put ourselves in contention to achieve our goals in the league as our number 1 priority.
If that's the case then Hell for leather against Treviso with the first team. I really couldn't car less about Europe this season. The new tourney strikes me as nothing more than a glorified B&I Cup.

Regarding the game itself, I agree that we need to go with the strongest starting lineup possible. And if we're well on top (3 scores!), then maybe bring off the key guys earlier than they would normally.

I'd rest Buckley for this game and give the improving Bealham a chance. Muldoon needs a break too. Also after the Eagles game I'm going with Peter Robb with Leader on the bench if he struggles. We're going to lose Henshaw for the November internationals so giving him and Leader a run out in the 13 shirt is needed.
