better indeed

And Cardiff has stolen 4 Osprys lineouts today, so last week could have been an isolated phenomenon against a "specialist" team

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. Seeing as no one else mentioned it I figured it was just my colourblindness making things confused.

But it definitely needs to be looked into

I didn't see the match, but the photos suggest that Connacht & Treviso had the same colours albeit in diffrent formats - why did we not play in all Green. Seems mad, like watching Kerry vs Meath a few years ago (couldn't figure out who to hate more).
At the Munster game on Friday, the ref almost wore the same colours as Munster.

Who makes these calls? Surely some commons sense required.

Feet on the ground lads. Let's not get carried away. We're up near the top of the table with -8 points. We're not scoring enough tries.

edit: how was the new young hooker?

Wow, I'm not used to this rarified air.

I think we're all a little woozy. :P It's a great win by a team that would have lost this type of game last year. When you think we still have the likes of Mils, Aki and McCartney to come in the air could get even thinner!

Tough at the top, folks, tough at the top.

I'm buzzing from that win. It might have been nothing but the minimal advantage from a match with only five successful penalties, but the biggest factor is we got the majority of those kicks. How often has that happened? These were precisely the games we talked about when we talked about Dan Parks. We've got the mentality now, we are getting in place, we are taking and making those points

I'm loving that we have no losing bonus points this year, because we've got the wins instead.

But look at the table! Look how hard it is to be a top team. We are fourth and we are still barely ahead of the only team to lose away to Zebre this year. That's how tight it is. Now the smallest slip up will be huge.

Wow, I'm not used to this rarified air.

Just home from The Dáil now- great atmosphere in there gotta be said. The stream was terrible (at times reminded me of the Playstation game Jonah Lomu Rugby) from the Italians (except for the adds for cereal) but feck it we got the 4 points- plus with Scarlets getting 0 from their trip to Thomond is postive for our Top 6 ambitions..

Darragh Leaders MOTM award was wonderfully awkward.
Dave McSharry and Poolman should both have really started this match in truth

Plus the free food was great :cheer:

I think he had several progeny on the field, but Carty and Leader for sure.

RogueXV, last year we were the team picking up the bonus points but losing the games, doesn't it feel better to be on the other side of that equation?

As for the officials, the ref was OK, he got most calls correct, but he was not ably assisted by his touch judges. Especially the guy on the camera side of the field.

Agree Browser, at one point he said Carty has the makings of the next ROG. Enjoy the enthusiasm, but let's not lose the run of ourselves. He's going to have to start knocking over some pressure penalty kicks before Sexton has anything to worry about. :cheer:

Another case of a win is a win, not a great endorsement of the game of rugby. Sure there were some good performances but they never got going and that will be worrying. Also a worry is the number of bonus points they're shipping, 5 of the 6 games the opposition have earned a bonus point and you could really count Cardiff's 2 from the draw in that. Don't usually go in for given the refs a hard time but this crew were not up for it tonight though in the end the scoreline correctly reflects the play on the field.

Well one lads, holding out and defending a narrow lead on our own try line in the last minute once AGAIN!!!!

There is a resilience about this team that it have not see before. Well done, it could have been more, and could have ended badly, but like so often this season they stood tall and were counted. And so many of the young lads did well today.

My stream was terrible at the end so very hard to see what happened but it looks like we held out and ground out a win, dunno if there's even a precedent for going to the tmo to check a turnover? I definitely want to see Connacht implement the expansive gameplan they did in the latter half of last season - if we can win doing it - but its great to see Connacht are starting to learn how to hold on to the game (even though it got very close at the end).
