Is Feek not solely in charge of the scrum and Foley in charge of the defence? Or did you mean the performance of the forwards in defence Borders? I think they were good in both cases either way. I find the line out options very interesting there were some pretty complicated moves in both this game and south africa iirc, they don't go to McCarthy much if at all, mainly favouring Ryan and O'Mahoney I think. I suppose if Strauss can deliver accurate throws to the very back then why not.

You know your stuff rossie but you really have a blind spot for Kidney. I suppose I'd feel the same with someone who had achieved as much as him with Connacht.

Yes he deserves some credit as we got a performance (minus 6 regulars) in an important game but really it only serves to highlight how poor we've been in other games. This result gets him a reprieve and the fact he's blooded some new players gives us a bit of impetus and some welcome selection headaches heading towards the 6 nations.

This November has shown that it'll be a weak 6 nations again in 2013 and anything less than 4 wins will be failure imo and should lead to his contract not being renewed.

To me the main man with his reputation enhanced from this series will be Anthony Foley, forwards put in a fine performance today.

We scored some good tries today and I think we've seen enough from Gilroy to say he is a far better option than Andrew Trimble at this stage.

However, still lots to work on, restarts in the first half were dire. Argentina could have had 15 points from penalties in the first half without having caused any real try scoring opportunities. That is bad habits and that is what cost us in for example: 2011 6n against France (3 tries to 1 but lost due to indiscipline) and subsequently in other games.

However, its hard to overstate how off the pace Argentina were on the day in contrast to the Wales game 2 weeks back but we did what we had to do, bit unhappy with the silly tries at the end taking the gloss off the score but job done.

rog tried the short drop out(similar to parks v leinster) and got it badly wrong.

It was an emphatic win Ireland played very well for 50 minutes or so, having said that Argentina were obviously not at full speed today. Even so I did not in my wildest dreams think Ireland could beat Argentina by that sort of score line no matter what the situation.

In other news, how could you lose Scotland, don't you know I had money on you? pricks.

I think the only change we'll see is Trimble for Gilroy depending on injuries of course.

The Rabo facebook page has a link to a calculator for World Rankings. The Samoa win over Wales is the one that's cost us: a win puts us (most likely) up to 6th while a loss casts us down to 9th.

I'd say you are almost 100% right on what deccie will pick, but I don't see him moving earls to accommodate cave, more likely to put gilroy in on the wing imo. Your bench times and jacksons inclusion are pretty optimistic too I think, although it is more and more obvious every game that we are not getting the benefits from the bench that other teams do, because the players come on too late.

Ireland v argentina was created by rossie
Having seen whats available for selection over the last two weeks i thought id get the ball rolling on this one.
By my reckoning our top 8 seeding may be in danger if we lose this one and samoa win.If other results go against us and samoa lose by less than 15 we could also be in trouble.
We also have injury/sickness worries surrounding Sexton and D Ryan.

My team, taking everything into consideration is-
1. Healy.(should be captain)
2. Strauss.
3. Ross.(worried about his form in scrum but Bent hasnt played enough to risk)
4. Ryan(if out DOC)
5. Mc carthy.
6. o Mahoney.
7. Henry.
8. Heaslip.(needs to up his workrate)
9. Murray.
10. Sexton(if out ROG for experience and goalkicking)
11. Bowe.
12. Darcy.( id like to see McFadden start but i think Deccie will go with experience)
13. Cave. ( showed good footballng brain)
14. Earls.
15. Zebo.

16. Cronin(by skin of his teeth)
17. Kilcoyne.
18. Bent. ( give him 30 min)
19. Doc/tuohy.
20. Henderson. (give him 30 min)
21. Reddin. (30 min)
22. Jackson( whoever starts)
23. McFadden/Gilroy(if he picks Darcy it has to be Mcfadden as he offers more versatility).
