I'm willing to stick with him, the only way he'll build confidence is with games and he's showing signs of improvement

Big trick is to back that up next week against the quins, if we can do that we can win and what a game to pick to end the loosing streak.
unfairly knocked?
come on man fetu and Henry have been shocking up until the last 2 games maybe
Agree 4711, Henry has made a positive contribution the last two games but prior to that was not great particularly defensively.
Vianikolo has had an awful awful Begining at Connacht, from his debut debacle to his try for munster, he really does need some positives and yesterday was a beginning, nothing earthshattering but a start. I have been critical of him, dont think it's been too unfair so far but if he can build on a couple of good things yesterday then it may become unfair.
Suffice to say that i would now let him water the pitch midweek and after yesterday maybe even on match day:)

Despite running a really good side close all over the park the management are going to have some familiar issues to address during the week. Penalty missed from nearly in front of the posts and a brilliant try chance butchered when it looked harder not to score.
I thought Toh looked very classy everytime the ball came his way. Great to see Dave Moore have such a positive debut and McGuire build on his previous outings.
It's still a defeat but hopefully there are enough positives from it to lift the mood in the camp and build for a big effort on Friday.

Really only fair to compare against the last 8 seasons, when the Celtic/Magners/RaboThingy league went home and away and we've had roughly the same number of fixtures. We do tend to start the season well (05-06 being the dishonourable exception) so there are no significant cross-season losing streaks. This is the longest streak by a long shot in that time:
2010/11 9*
2009/10 3
2008/09 5
2007/08 6
2006/07 5
2005/06 9
2004/05 5
2003/04 3
* If you count the Samoa match, it's only 7.

feckin monsters!!!
ever so proud . ofisa was mega.
we could do with some size up front. dont have a lot of ball carrying ability. weve got to earn the right to go wide i reckon rather than over and back and all flashy but nowhere ultimately. the garryowen seems to be the most used offensive weapon to gain yards!!

We were crucified in the scums and this just emphasises where our recruitment priorities should lie. Great to see some of the fringe players getting a run AND showing they can play at this level. ( Eric please note ) . Miah certainly speeded things up when he came on and Moore really looked like he belonged ( hard to believe it was his Connacht debut ). Mc Sharry should be shot for not looking outside in the first half but we can put that down to inexperience. Tonetti looks like a battler, though lacking finesse, he brings some physicality to the midfield.
George fought his usual good fight; he really is a big loss when playing in the second row. Macca again had a great game.
Overall we can be proud of the days work despite the result .
Somebody in the last few days suggested we should all attend the final training session In the sportsground before the quins game to show our support. I think that's a great idea and will certainly try to get off work to get there if someone can find out and publicise the details.
Looking forward to the Quins game on Friday.

I think Moore offers something that Murphy and O'donahue doesn,t. He is willing to make a break from the base of the scrum and is always in the face and hasseling his oposite number, why he has not been given a chance before now beggars belief.
Well done to the two young props that came on, baptism of fire springs to mind.

Delighted with Vainikolo, O halloran, Swift, Macca, Ofisa (my mom),Duffy, Mul and Tonetti
Dave Moore and Reyneke looked sharp off the bench
Scrum was a big worry but Quins don't pack the same punch up front.
Roll on Friday now
