All of the above signed contracts last season, some would have signed 1 year deals, as Cian Kelleher did.
well there is the first bit of good news!!!!

I'd be very surprised the academy lads were on two year deals, and Kelleher probably wanted the one year specifically so he wasn't tied in if and when he got offers...
I agree, tbh I think a fair few of those guys would have been given one year deals either due to not being well established, or having problems with injury.

Sol_ie wrote: From the whole Henshaw thing, I think the rule is that one province can't outbid another province when it comes to a player. Obviously there are other financial incentives that being a Leinster player might bring over a Connacht player, but that's by the by. No suggestion anywhere that the move is over money.
The man wants to play for Leinster (we presume), they want him back, end of story.
Doesn't have any of the bad taste of the Henshaw move, CK will only have been with us for two seasons (one of which he missed a good chunk of due to injury), he's not a Connacht product and no former Internationals are claiming that a move East is the only good thing for him.
He's in his third season here and has made 46 appearances so far, nonetheless I agree. This is why it's so important to develop as many Connacht born pros as possible.
By my count that leaves O'Halloran and Healy as our only contracted senior outside backs for next season. Lots of work to be done.

If he wants to return really don't think they can block it.

Well if Leinster rate him higher than what they've got and the other choice is refuse him a move to his home province and lose him overseas, I don't see what choice the IRFU have. We shouldn't let the fact that the IRFU behaved abominably in regard to one player move (Henshaw) colour our view of other common-or-garden changes.

Careful now. The Broflake/Snowflake rift of late 2018 is barely behind us...
