Very good call on Óró Sé do bheatha bhaile.
It is not cliched, people know the chorus, it is fairly upbeat, and it is very relevant to Connacht. It ticks all the boxes.

Everyone bought into that last year.
I am sick of the fields.

maybe instead of them having a slow slow version of a ballad, they might go for something up tempo, and as for the Wests Awake, more of a downer song before a game, you'd struggle to find.
I know most people around where I was in the Clan, last year, audibly groaned most games when the 2 singers started. to sign it.

Shipping up to Boston, or something like that is what's needed to get the crowded going before a game. You want the crowd signing along, not turning more and more depressed as the West's Awake proceeds on its slow funeral lament.

Don't know why I've never heard "Óró Sé do bheatha bhaile" in the Sportsgroud. They should have a lone singer male or female belt this out with a drum beat and or uileann pipes.
The whole ground knows the chorus.. It ticks all the boxes for the image Connacht and Pat Lam in particular wants to portray. A Connacht Song as Gaeilge, it's a rallying cry to war.

I agree, the more noise we make the better, and we will all enjoy it more as well! Honestly i felt it was a bit quiet before k.o. last week. I lashed into the fields to find i was the only persion around me singing. On second thought, possably it was my croking that put everyone off!

The clan stand was very poor considering the crowd in there, (maybe some of the spectators that can afford season tickets are not as vocal as the younger crowd who were going when they could? ).

Tbf the players themselves didn't seem fully tuned in either and that can feed into the crowd too.

Hopefully we'll have a better performance on and off the pitch this week. I think we will

To be fair, need something to cheer. Crowd were pretty vocal in the first half - especially given the way the match was going. Come second half, very hard to work up enthusiasm for that at all.

Clan Stand has always been predominantly ST holders too.

This coming Saturday is a pretty big day for us. If we lose again, it will sow a few seeds of doubt and the fan base may question whether we are capable of continuing the wonderful progress and 'unforgettable' experience of last year. A loss will give a 'wallop' and make the games to come even harder, in my view. A win however will be a big fillip and an opportunity to park last weekend and look ahead favourably. We need all fans to be more vocal and make more noise than last week. It felt sort of quiet at times last Saturday (even before Glasgow fully took charge) and we probably didn't do our bit to help the cause. Suggest we all make extra special effort on Saturday next to 'lift it'.
