Yeah, makes more sense to give the lads in the extended squad a run out against the Springboks in SA than swapping in a couple in here and there at home against Italy and Scotland.
great introduction to international rugby for the newbies. getting mullered by 20 stone SA beasts

I am starting to really dislike Schmidt. He appears cut from the same cloth as steady Eddie.
We will be torn apart in South Africa and the November internationals that matter.
And then back into another 6 nations.
I now understand why the Southern teams don't even concern themselves with the sub standard 6 nations.
Bright side is we have no worries of buckley, healy and o'halloran ever being selected. So we watch the same shite in the knowledge that we will always have our best players available

Trimble isn't playing well. Zebo should be on that wing.
As such Payne should be at 15 with McCloskey given another chance at 12.
Jackson is just better than Madigan. So is worth the 22 jersey
And nothing McFadden has done all season has shown he is worth that spot. Take your pick from the multitude of backs that are multi positional in Ulster for that.
Ireland won't lose. But should they lose and come 5th in the championship that would be bad news for Connacht as its an extra million out of the IRFU budget and that would greatly effect us.
Also I don't see Marmion getting any more than token minutes. If Joe doesn't rate/like you it seems only inju or age can get you into the team.
Yup exactly my thoughts- keep same backline as faced England but bring in Payne for Kearney and Zebo for Trimble (then move Earls to 14)
There are arguments for Dillane to start - also an argument could be made for Furlong on bench over White (from selfish POV hopefully Ireland finish the match with 4 Connacht players on the pitch though)
Cian Healy on bench, he really is living on reputation at this point - his agent must be mastermind to have gotten him a 3 Year Central Contract.
Gilroy and Jackson for McFadden and Madigan
Obviously I'll watch and support but I'm more excited about the u20 match, Nigel has them playing some great rugby

At least Marmion made the bench but no start for Dillane? McFadden and Madigan again?? Is Joe ultra-conservative or ultra-stubborn to the point of blindness?
