I really think you are underestimating the effect this will have on the attendance. Yes most of us on here who can be at the match will be at it but I know of at least 5 people who go regularly to games who I'd be fairly certain will give this one a miss.
I'd agree with Swift that the final should have been set for the Sunday, I remember the 2000 final replay Galway were in, didn't feel right playing an All-Ireland on a Saturday.

Agree. either you support connacht or not. it was a good game, but with no teams from our province its not a problem. if it was mayo in the football then id be all for changing it. (even tho mayo wont win    )
*i personally think its huge disrespect to all the fans, players and management having it on saturday evening. ffs move the women football and give the hurling final 3.30 on a sunday

I think Connacht would be mad to go head to head with the hurling. Its an unfortunate clash (it really is all or nothing, some days you'd be desperate for a match to go to or look at and there'd be nothing on) but there's no point being ignorant about this. The hurling final is one of the biggest events of the year and given the drama yesterday everyone will want to see it. A lot will stick with the rugby but most Connacht supporters are sports fans also and may be tempted not to stay in and catch the hurling. With no TV coverage the old style 2.30 kick off might be best for once. I presume Friday is out at this late stage with travel arrangements etc.

Hurling is confirmed for 5.
Yeah, dogs will be on. I wonder will they consider moving it to 3 or will they fight it out.

Apparently the All-Ireland replay is scheduled for 5pm on the 28th.
I wonder will they move the Ospreys game if so? Would be a disaster for attendance.
