Niall O'Connor is playing for Jersey Rugby it seems. Had a good game against Ulster A in the B&I Cup. Didn't hear he was being transferred, thought he was very much a home bird.

It was a shop window performance, he's been very average in some games too. But yes he probably should have been kept on after one season of very few opportunities...

I'd say Gloucester will extend his deal if there smart. NOC played well against the Ulster Ravens in the B&I Cup kicking over 17 points.

I saw that, was the standout player for Gloucester, the Irish Provinces need to keep tabs on players like Monaghan who move to England in their early twenties and get a second wind. they should be brought back if they continue to shine, he's only on a one year deal.

Saw that and two red cards given out in the game (1 french and 1 Tongan) and a yellow as well. Not as bad as the Fiji vs Italy game (4 yellows for the Fijians) but the Pacific Island Nations really need to work on discipline if there going to compete against the bigger nations.

fetuu vanikolo (who cant get a game with exeter, 2 starts and a sub i think) scored 2 trys vs france to, bringing his international record now to 11 games, 11 trys. not bad

on a lighter note, former player NOC tweeted this and mcCrea retweeted it.

david gannon has said he's now retired.

How the f*ck did I miss this? Can't believe he's retired. You'd imagine he could go down to France and play for a few more season like Christian Short has and make good money. Is it injury?

The Sky commentators really seemed to have a warm spot for Fets.
Happy to see him do well. He's a highlight player in my eyes, but would have done better than Fionn on Friday night

I caught the first half of Exeter-Cardiff yesterday which featured the full spectrum of Fetu Vainikolo moments. He knocked on a high ball under little pressure, made some awesome mazy breaks, flat out declined to field another high ball and scored a tasty try. An absolute pleasure to watch when you you're not planking it about whether he's going to cough up easy possession.

He's having a decent season at Limoges but I can't see them qualifying from a tough group. Montauban are top of the pool at the moment but it's hard to see past Paris side Massy this year. (Former Connacht man, Niall O'Brien's is there...)

Since they've been (ahem) exiled to Fed One, Montauban qualified from their division most years, but the closest Peter came was a semi-final loss in 2012/2103, when Montauban went down Bourgoin, who then lost the final to Bourg-en Bresse.

Peter Durcan is captaining US Limoges (his old club) this year in Federal 1. He has been so close to promotion to PRO D2 in the last two years with Montauban losing in the final game both years IIRC
