They did comment " They stated he left after his two year contract came to an end"
On signing Kyle said he wanted to come to Europe to gain experience and it was his intention to return home to get back into the Australia team.
Think you may be reading to much into it.

His (Godwin) words to me was “I got the flick”
He said he had hoped to get another contract.

someone in the departing players thread said it was godwin's decision to leave - I doubt he'll be the only player in the game who wants to move closer to home due to covid.

Agree Cabaiste, Kyle Godwin will be badly missed. A truly bizarre decision to let him go. I think it's time we had some comment from either Willie Ruane or Andy Friend as to the background to Kyle departing the Sportsground. Was it a selectorial decision by Andy Friend - hard to see that TBH? Was it a budget decision forced on us by the IRFU? That would be extremely annoying given the continued funding being poured into the financial black hole that is the favoured son called Munster.

Kyle Godwin rejoining the Force, according to Murray Kinsella on The42.

A classy player whose versatility will be sorely missed.

I sincerely hope it goes well for him and he picks up something longer term, given the Force have only really been brought back into the fold for the lockdown competition.

Also in England, Callum Torpey was promoted to the Championship with Richmond . Unlike many other clubs, Richmond run a good ship.
