Wow, Zebre 2nd in a row with a ref with 2 games of experience (mitigated some I imagine by him being Italian this time). They'd surely be propping up the table if it weren't for getting Clancy the first time out.

Rabo setting their stalls out early, Ian Davies reffed Zebre in his 2nd game and now refs Treviso in his 3rd. All 3 of his Pro12 games have had an Italian team. But he had an assured performance last week, so good luck to him.

the first real sign that the season is starting is when there is talk about refs.

Sequels are never as good are they? Still, it would be a waste of time to do all that work last year, then get it noticed, then complain about it and not check back to see if anything improves.
