I prefer conceeding only 10 and 13 against Ulster and Leinster rather than scoring but conceeding much more. The begining of the season put us as best try-scorer team. Those opportunities and points will come again. On the contrary, defence was Pat Lam goal, and it's good he kinda achieved it since Munster game (Newcastle away excepted, because of the half-squad injured). Talking about that, Scarlets are in the same situation, ravaged by injuries.

For which we need to ensure we put our best available 15 on the park.
This means that at 10 we must start AJ McGinty. We need some form of control and variation and we just haven't been getting that from Jack Carty unfortunately. We've scored 8 points in the last three games, and we've got to start scoring again to win games.

Scarlets being on a bad run themselves is a bit of a glass half full/half empty situation. They'll be looking to stop the rot in a big way especially at home. Plus they are done in Europe so they can focus their full attention not only on this game but also the return leg at the Sportsground. On the other hand if Connacht can dominate the opening exchanges and convert that dominance into points they'll set themselves up nicely for this game as well as the return leg. If the Scarlets lose this time out they could be on a run of seven losses in all competitions when they come to Galway. That will depend heavily on whether Northampton still have an interest in the Champions Cup when they meet the Scarlets, but either way this would be a big win for Connacht.

Time for another historic win. It would be great get rid of a few more monkeys by the end of the season and pick up some points along the way

1 win for us in our last 7 meetings is not a good record. They're on a poor run no more than ourselves at the moment though so I'm expecting a very tight game. With Leinster facing a tough away trip to Ospreys a win could put us back on top of the table.
