Not trying to be a complete contrarian, but the Indo's coverage of Connacht over the last few years hasn't been bad at all. they had a whole section dedicated to Connacht every Friday last season.

Just because he's saying what we want to hear doesn't mean that he's not a compete spoofer.
His list of "exciting young players" which doesn't include O'Halloran or Buckley makes it clear that he hasn't watched Connacht play this season or last.
Henshaw's centre partnership with Bundee Aki is currently the best midfield unit in the country.
When did they last play together George?
I am at a loss as to why he would even consider leaving Galway for the current mess that is Leinster
There are plenty of valid reasons.
Money should not be an issue for Henshaw, as he is currently on a central contract from the Union and will be eligible for a significant top-up from private investment when his current deal expires next summer.
Eh, what?
Anyone who's assuming that it's the IRFU, or even Leinster, that are driving this, isn't paying attention.

Increases their desire to recruit, but makes them a less appealing destination. At least that's our hope!

One thing's for sure if he goes to Leinster or Munster the quality of coaching he gets week-to-week will drop. Leinster fans seem to have belatedly woken up to the fact that Cullen was Pinky to MOC's Brain last season, while the sight of Foley wittering on about how proud he was of the lads after the Treviso match - you'd swear they got 5 points away to Toulon - wasn't particularly edifying either.
Dark days for Irish rugby, our lads better keep the performances & results coming, they're the only good news in the village.

The exact same thought crossed my mind as I was watching it. Leinster were abysmal. Hands down their worst performance in years. Now as a Connacht fan it's hard not to be biased, but I genuinely think Robbie's best move would be to stay put. Ulster don't need centres, and Leinster and Munster are both in transition. A move abroad would damage his international career, and at this point I actually think staying in Connacht would be a PR masterstroke. We'll see how it all plays out.
I haven't seen it yet but judging by the match reports they were terrible alright. Apparently there were Leinster fans leaving the match before full time. The grass isn't always greener

IRFU will insist to make him go to Munster
Connacht will obtain a compensation by having Marmion on a central contract as both Boss and Reddan are ageing fast
Parata will become the new Henshaw very quickly, he has the potential to be[/quote]

Hopefully you're correct Connachta.
I read this at the time but blanked it from my mind especially when there was nothing more said about the topic either on here or in any other newspapers (none that I read anyhow!) Whatever plays out with both Henshaw and Marmion will tell us volumes about what the IRFU REALLY think of Connacht's role.
