Widely reported when Moore signed for Wasps that Ross was staying another year at Leinster, Leinster also stated that their list of renewals was only a partial one. Old news and not happening.

The independent are reporting this morning that Jared Payne is also set to be offered a central contract bringing Ulster's contingent up to 4. Mike Ross doesn't seem to have any kind of contract for next year. Just wait for the suggestions he be sent down here as 'compensation'....

Leinster have:
Cian Healy
Robbie Henshaw
Rob Kearney
Johnny Sexton
Jamie Heaslip
Sean O’Brien
Devin Toner

Munster have:
Keith Earls
Conor Murray
Donnacha Ryan
Peter O’Mahoney

Ulster have:
Tommy Bowe
Andrew Trimble
Rory Best
Jared Payne

Connacht have:
N. O’body

Yeah, I could have almost forgiven Robbie if he left and Leinster were footing the bill. But him leaving taking the central contract with him is going to take awhile to get over. Connacht lose a world class player, a major marketing face and an additional player the central contract would have allowed them to sign and Leinster get all this when they hardly required it. The nouveaux riches get richer.

Healy on a three year deal is a joke.

If Robbie signed an irfu contract representing Connacht, he is now on the payroll of the irfu which releases his wages to pay for further improvements to the Connacht team. So by fecking off to leinster on a central contract he triply screwed us? Is this a correct reading of the situation. One he left, two he signed for free to Leinster and three he discarded the idea of been given an irfu contract at Connacht (which would have released his wages to future signings). That's my reading. If true that is a right kick in the bollox.

The budget that Connacht used or had set aside to resign Robbie would have been free to peruse additional recruits to strengthen the squad if having taken the central contract (being paid directly from IRFU funds) he had continued to play for Connacht.

Leinster basically get a free player, and if we say he's filling the slot that T'eo is vacating, they also now have a huge chunk of change free to bring in another player too....Absolutely sickening.....the most disgusting element of Henshaw's decision to jump...

Likewise the signing of Cian Healy on central contract the vast majority of which will be from IRFU coffers, this despite Healy not having put together back to back competent games in two years, and regularly crocking himself since post last Lions tour..

If Healy is currently worth €600k per year over three years, what are McGrath, Buckley and Cronin now worth in the Irish system..?.

Have to say that I followed the Twitter account of BOD last night and am very disappointed by his reaction. I know he does not give one toss about how the general Irish rugby public feel, it's all about the Leinster public. The continuous dross that he was coming out with was nothing but condescending. "I would be gutted if I was you" was a reply to some Connacht supporter ........ No s**t Sherlock ! Even though he was instrumental in making it happen? He could not hold his delight back.

BOD will always be a hero in rugby terms to me, but since his retirement his views on social media are getting way beyond his station. He was a national hero and not just a Dublin one. The whole bigging up of Ringrose is doing the lad no favours, he does not need the extra hype and expectation. He should never have had a spat with AAC over money being his motivation as he is one to talk. He just needs to realise that his position of high respect in the game with supporters should be two ways and it can be lost. He needs to respect all rugby supporters and he needs some social media advice. I would wager that POC will not be as active or courting social media as much anytime soon.

Very good...but feck off to Athlone should be changed as I gather there is anger there also. That town does not see itself as near Dublin.

Any ideas for a suitable chant that we can shout out on the 27th versus Ospreys ? It could become our new theme verse.

It’s all happening in Leinster, lads. Cian Healy signs a 3 year central contract today. That means next year, Leinster will have 8 members of their squad on central contracts. Makes a mockery of their claims to be weakened when they’re away on Ireland duty with the amount that must free up from their wage bill.

They have:
Cian Healy
Robbie Henshaw
Rob Kearney
Johnny Sexton
Jamie Heaslip
Sean O’Brien
Devin Toner
Mike Ross

Munster have:
Keith Earls
Conor Murray
Donnacha Ryan
Peter O’Mahoney

Ulster have:
Tommy Bowe
Andrew Trimble
Rory Best

Connacht have:
N. O’body

I’m sorry to add my voice to the chorus of people berating the Leinster fan who came on to offer his sympathies but…..

I don’t begrudge him moving for money if he certain that there is more money to be made at Leinster. But while Robbie will almost certainly win more medals at Leinster, I don’t think that means he will achieve more there. He will probably win a handful of Pro12 titles but he has as much chance of winning a HC as Connacht do of winning the Pro12 or a Challenge cup.

And for me, that’s the point. I think you’d find it hard to find many other Connacht men who’d trade a handful of Pro12 medals in which they play less than half of the games in the league versus the chance to win one medal with Connacht. To me, that would be the bigger achievement. Besides, all of the medals he’d likely win would pale in in comparison to the six nations medal he’s already won. Apart from the chance to win something with Connacht, he’d also have been instrumental in achieving success if Connacht maintain their momentum. As it is, he’ll be a footnote in the story when his teammates will go down as legends.

As for learning more form Ireland players and Leo Cullen. Maybe that’s true. Or maybe he could have been the guy showing up at Ireland camps teaching the Leinster players how to play attacking rugby while winning games.
