difficult to know what to make of the game, I think they were up against a mature team of players who play week in and week out together.

Some of the forwards showed power with ball in hand, unfortunetly we could'nt protect the ball when these hard yards were made, the forwards for me that caught the eye were Masterson, Dillane and Romaine. Romaine dropped the shoulder into of the Pontyprid forwards and left him staggering. The backs were disappointing, Carr had a shocker.

Cian Romaine is a serious unit-spilt ball once which led directly to a Ponty try but other than that he had good game..

Has to be said; The Ponty fans are wonderfully nuts

Maloney got blown away as did the rest of the pack, romaine and dillane excepted. Robb had some handling issues, but in fairness I lost count of the times cooney or o'leary passed the ball to his face. Replacement halves far better.

Incredibly sloppy stuff from the Eagles, we butchered a few try opportunities and a constant stream of knock ons, awful passes and missed tackles kept us on the back foot. We were 2 yards away from making it a 7 point game with about 10 minutes left when they got hold of it and scored an 80 metre try. If we had a bit more precision we could have made a game of it.

Borders, Cooney didn't really catch my eye too much, didn't do much wrong but didn't really stand out. I thought Blade looks extremely lively and tenacious when he came on though. Ultan Dillane was the pick of the bunch for me. Carr had a real shocker.

Getting well thumped today but up against a good side by the looks of it. One question I'd ask from those at the game is how did John Cooney do? Going on past form I'd have him ahead of Porter but haven't seen him yet this season.
