We are only mentioned in the last paragraph, and there is no mention in the headline on his negative comments earlier in the article on Munster, Leinster, the quality of competition in the HEC this season etc etc.
We all know he's a tool.

Vote going against George so far.
93% to 7%
I'm willing to bet that 7% is mainly Chris Ashton repeat voting

As someone pointed out previously, Leicester got hammered by the Sarries in the league there a few weeks ago.............. should they be disbanded. We went into the game with a chance, a slim chance of qualification, everyone knew it was a long shot. To write that drivel makes me so angry. The poll that was underneath the article asking if there should be three professional teams in Ireland currently stands at 94% saying no, it should be four.
I'm off to the dentist now !

At the dentist at lunchtime. In the Waiting room, I read George's piece in the Indo, recomending the ending of Connacht as a pro team. The man is a complete tool, media love him because he comes out with complete tripe, a sort of live troll. He knows less about Rugby than Dunphy does about soccer, which is saying something!
Honestly, I was so angry I marched into the surgery without any contemplation for the fate before me. Every dentist should have an article by George in reception, fillings would be compassionate relief by comparison.

At the moment, something like that looks to be our only way forward
I brought this up before at the sportground, and someone was saying the Comers are already putting a million a year into Galway FC or whatever the soccer team is called these days? I mean Soccer, really?!!

i cant really think of any wealthy Connacht born people having an extra 5million to spend a year.
would it be allowed to be set up? any rules about it.
would it have to be still under the IRFU?
Is Nigel Wray part of the Roscommon Wrays? :woohoo:

salmson wrote: That's completely unfounded! Last year the IRFU bailed them out to the tune of 960K on stadium repayments, and last time I checked that's a SIX figure deficit.
Munster rugby has an annual loss of 650K last season which is down from 1.05 million previous season. There is a debt of just under 10 million on stadium.
This is no big deal when there is an annual turnover of 14.7 million. They seem to have had no problem getting finance to build their new training headquarters at UL.

If I remember correctly the original €400k came about due to our injury crisis last season, so I'd fully expect that the additional excess relates to our serious injury crisis for much of thiscseasn......
treatment in Germany and UK was a contributary factor in the past but afaik all players have been treated in Ireland this season. Health insurance would cover a lot of that. Gates receipts and season tickets are down on previous year. Not sure what else is contributing but I'm sure in the grand scheme of things finding savings of say 300K per year over 3 years is achievable. My fear is that with this type of negative publicity combined with uncertainty over our 2 competitions it will be difficult to find a good replacement for Mazda.
