Just getting word about a flu virus in the Connacht squad. Pat Lam on Galway Bay FM confirmed that training was cancelled. Big concern.

Mind games

Hopefully :(

Apparently a little, Rob Murphy has just said trainning wasn't' cancelled but modified. Relieving worriness for Saturday...

Mul said it last night. One of my mates asked if White was OK after hobbling off, and Mul said a lot of the lads weren't training cos they were sick

Up to 12 Connacht players have been affected by that flu virus according to Lam. No confirmation as to which players. No one ruled out yet.

Was just going to say. They're advertising that there are only 300 tickets left. It should be a cracking atmosphere. O'Connells is going to be wedged on Saturday. Going to have to head in early.

The key is ref vision about defensive line, Mitrea accepted we were early to react, and limit offside, that's how we compensated the difference of power...(huge concentration, focus is the base for this in any case)

Think that Toulouse are going to go and try and steamroll us with power and offloads from the start. I thought they were more powerful in the collisions on Sunday tbh. The forecast is not good and i actually think that this will not suit Connacht for once, yes times are a changing. Out wide we looked far more dangerous than these vaunted french (and kiwi) men so rain won't be a help to us. So in terms of the line up i think it's important to pick the most powerful possible front 5 and back row.

I'd go with wilkinson, JHW, White
Clarke, Muldowney
Heenan, McKeon, Muldoon

At the moment the rest pick themselves. Im sure the Connacht players believe that the win is possible. It would put us in a very strong position in the group. By my calculations/guess two more wins in the pool would more than likely have us 7th or 8th seed for the QF! A long way to go, but what an incentive. Really looking forward to saturday.

You may be right... + Kaerney had better tackling stats against Scarlets and Edimburgh than against Toulouse, so it's 50/50, Browne could also be in contention if Muldoon is kept as 6

Muldoon is the younger of our 3 elder statesmen, I would hope that he will start. Neither Browne or Muldowney offers that Physical Abrasiveness that Muldoon does. Against a faster backrow it would be a different choice. We need to combat power not speed.

Tough break for Swifty, he won't have many big games left to play-in. I guess Muldowney will be his replacement.
