B)
Not sure if this is the right heading to putting this post into but there you go. Maybe better under the heading 'Former Players' .

Anyway, just back from holiday to the channel Islands - Jersey. They play in the UK Championship (2nd tier) and have just turned fully professional this season.

Went along last weekend to see them play Leicester Tigers in a pre-season friendly.

Nice set up - about 4,500 turned up.

Was intrigued to find two old Connacht boys starting from Jersey - Niall O'Connor @ 10 and Mark McCrea @ 13. McCrea scored a cracking try after 10 mins and did nothing else all match and O'Connor placed his kicks high over the uprights as per usual - something never change I guess :)

Finished 69 - 7 to Leicester - Toby Flood played - class.............

I guess the terrestrial channels need to find out what kind of deal will be available first. It is possible to share between Sky and other channels, though, that's currently happening with the BBC for the Formula 1 season.

None of the current TV carriers( rte, tg4, s4c, BBC wales ni alba) have signed up past this coming season yet AFAIK though. The viewing figures are very good so that's surprising. In fact they are a lot better than a viva premiership viewing figure esp here and in Wales. That's the compromise of ppv TV.

Sky get first choice of the games each week. They go for one Saturday match each week, and five additional matches throughout the season. The five additional matches will probably be selected when the last set of dates are announced, so Sky can focus on battles for home semi finals
Sky are also forced to show at least one live match from each ground throughout the season.

Any other channels with rights, cannot show the game Sky are showing live, but can show highlights later in the day.

Sky will provide highlights to all the other channels, and vice versa, allowing Sky to have a recap show once a week.

No doubt Sky will come to Galway only for Interpros

Just a tint bit of feedback on my post above. This was a complete guess, and it was mainly how I hope the Sky deals work. I've no idea on the in's and out's of how their schedule will work, and at this stage, I doubt Sky full know.
All that I've read for certain, is that Sky will be showing a Saturday afternoon game each week

Ospreys beat Worcester 23-19 at home. Apparently worcesters bus went on fire on way to game.
