Marist beat sligo grammer 25-17. Strong breeze made it a game of 2 halves. Marist led 22-0 after 15 and 25-7 at halftime. Some good players on both sides.

Blackrock beat roscrea in the semi. Didnt hear score but they play michaels in final.

yes there was an connacht backroom staff down in roscrea today aswel. im not sure if it was nigal or conor mcphillips.
it was just a training sesion, most of the players have already picked which province there going to.

In fairness you can be pretty confident that Nigel Carolan and Eric have put in the groundwork to lock down the lads already in the Connacht system. Most will sign anyway, will come down to College choices for some though...

If Connacht Academy are looking at some of Roscrea boys next year, they may want to speed up. So impressed with their victory over Terenure, Joe Smidt participated in training today as Roscrea prepare to meet Blackrock in semis on Sunday. I suspect he had an eye on a few guys who may have been Connacht targets.

great to see eric elwood this morning at buccaneers rugby club for the buccs v wegians underage blitz day. as it turned out my lad played his first ever rugby game v erics lad.
congrats to both clubs for the huge turnout and to buccs for the orgsnisation and extensive refreshments after. there must have been 100 + kids playing rugby this morning which was great to see. three tour buses came from wegians.

some great ball carriers on display too so future looks safe for both clubs.

Definitely not small lads. If you've seen him up front against Terenure, you would be terrified at how big he is.

I've stood beside SOB, he's 19 years of age, must be about 6'5" and I guess he is about 16st. Probably needs more shoulder muscle, but small....nope, as big a schoolboy as I've seen.

i watched the whole game yesterday, very impressed. he looked alot bigger yesterday then then few times i seen him place in the sportsgrounds many months ago.
if we dont keep him happy with a full acedamy contract, he could easily go else where. to me he has great talent. one to watch for sure. easily best player on the pitch

I saw that as well. He's being mentioned here a few times and it's good to see him playing superb. It looks like we're going to have a good crop of youngsters coming up and into the academy in the next year or two. Saw SOB today in the papers he's a good player but small, maybe a year of sub-academy before bringing him into the academy. It let him grow some more and get experience in the AIL.
