If there is a solo traveller coming from Connacht (or other province) then I have a spare bed in my rented apartment in Bilbao for 4 nights. Let me know if you're interested? It is very central in the city and close to San Memes stadium.

you could try ticketmaster spain I know one or two lads got their tickets through there but there is no print at home option so you have to pay extra for postage

Like Supperconnacht7 we had a momentary lapse of reason and booked for Bilbao. Eight of us flying into Madrid on a crap early flight on the Fri morning and have the joy of a 4 hr drive when we get there Accommodation prices brutal. Rip off Ireland has nothing on this lot. I'll be over there from the States on my honeymoon (my future wife is very kind to let our first few days of marriage center around beers and rugby). We get in Wednesday and are doing San Sebastian all day Thursday. If anyone is meeting up pregame Friday/Sat let me know.

Not sure where to locate this message, but here seems the most appropriate. Is there any other Connacht Rugby fans/Rugby fans going to Bilbao for the Finals on 11th & 12th May? I was very optimistic and booked acccommodation about 3 months ago on the chance that we might make the final. So if anyone is going then give me a holler so that we can arrange meeting up. Don't want to be the only Connacht Rugby fan over there!!

For anyone interested...tickets for the Champions Cup final are back on sale on the official site. Looks like there are a few hundred left after they were listed as sold out for the past month or so.

Still plenty of rugby to be played but even if we don't make it ourselves, some of our neighbours may be involved in the main event and Bilbao should make for a great weekend whoever is in it, so may as well get a dedicated thread going for the potential trip.

Flights are silly prices if you want to go direct with Aer Lingus (even the previous Tuesday).
Other options are Ryanair to Biarritz or Santander, take a train from Madrid, Barcelona, etc., or go via an indirect route.

Accommodation is hard to find in Bilbao at the minute (good availability Thursday night but nothing over the weekend). Some might free up once teams get knocked out and people start to cancel, but no doubt they'll get snapped up again. Good availability in surrounding areas but logistics could be a problem there.
